Fits all Apex and Attak Models , Chrome with Strobes
Low (12.5")
SMA-8FT96-12-BK
Port Yamaha is holding the original ornament for NosPro Terry.
Oh yeah, almost forgot the shock covers and hooked brake lever. I've got "Black Chrome" Power Madd hand guards on order but they hadn't arrived by the time I picked up the sled.
Now I'm getting pumped about going sledding. 8)

Steve I put the PowerMadd guards on my RTX w/ the mirrors and your going to love them. Thats the windshield I'm opting for. It looks like the guards should clear that shield better than the medium. I mounted my guards in the closer mounting hole on the bracket to gain a little more clearence. Post some pics when you get yours on. Nice looking sled!

I took a different route in mounting the mirrors to the Power Madds then described in the "destructions".
Rather than drilling I hole I mounted the mirrors upside down through one of the vent holes and used a washer for support. The vent cover still fits nicely.

I actually have a little bit (1/4") more clearance than what Tom shows on his pics. http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php?t=17563 The guards do not hit the shield even if I slam it to full lock.
The guard on the throttle side is mounted to the inside hole closest to the handlebar. The guard on the brake lever side is mounted to the outside hole to allow clearance between the guard and extended brake lever.
It turns out with this mounting that the windshield clearance is now the same for both guards.

The shield looks great - but how much taller is it than the really low original one?
Thanks
Bill
Thanks

I sold the original "ornament" to NosPro before it was even installed. I believe the best way to answer your question is to consider that the gauge pod stuck out over the opening of the original and now it's well protected by the "low" shield.vice108 said:The shield looks great - but how much taller is it than the really low original one?

I just couldn't bring myself to put a taller shield on that sweet looking machine so I consoled myself with a new set of leathers.

I pick up my gt tommorow, saturday. I got the same windshield and hand guards in the garage awaiting the sled. Yours looks great!!!!...Congrats...I noticed you mounted the mirrors on the upper part of the handguard, the ones I have seen were mounted lower on the slot.....

Thank you all, I can't wait to ride it now.
Bounty: That's supposedly a new color for PowerMadd called BlackChrome that Kevin at Port found for me when I told him I wanted something more trick than Tom (Mr. Sled) had on his.
riverrat: I didn't want to drill the guard and have the mounting bolt wrecking the appearance so I added a washer for support on the vent and mounted it so the bolt would be hidden by the vent cover. The mirrors are actually reversed RH to LH and upside down from the way they're shown mounted in the "destructions".

The 2" spot mirrors are angled and rotate 360 degrees so you can get them pretty much where you want them.
The handguards and mirrors are packaged separately and contain (2) each. You also need the snowmobile mounting kit that includes the proper brackets and hardware to mount the guards to your handlebars.
The total for the three items is going to set you back around $85 but might be found for a few bucks less if you're a shop-a-holic like my wife.
Give Kevin at Port Yamaha a call (262) 377-5480 or email kevin-portyamaha@wi.rr.com , I'm sure he can fix you right up.
