I don't know about the rest of you but if I get one more phone call, email, or read another post from my buddies telling me HOW great, no, AWESOME!, their new Apex/Attak is, I'm gonna puke. :o| It's not that I'm jealous really, no, I'm happy for them. About as happy as I am for the people who win the lottery. LOL

I'm affraid to even ride one cause I know it will make my '04 seem like more of a POS than it already is.

Anyone else feel that way too?

No i have two RX1's and am very happy with them I've ridden the new sleds a couple of times if i had the money some of these guys have i would own one. But being on the lower side of the RX1 owners income bracket lol i'm gonna wait another year or two I want handwarmers that work awesome in any conditions lol. (It's the only serious flaw i know of) Don't feel bad that you have an RX1 buddy they are still an awesome sled and don't let anyone tell you any different. ;)!

Let me reassure you that your RX is still a great sled! I rode my buddies new Apex GT and yes it is nice but the $11,000 is not worth the extra 5HP and raised handle bars. I have an 03 and absolutly love it. And yes the handwarmers still work, and the idler wheels are orignal.

Green, where are you seeing those results. Every post I see from former RX1 owners say the Apex is night and day, hands down better. I'd like to think my 03 isn't outdated too, but looks like they are. BTW, this doesn't mean they are NOT a nice sled, but my ole '96 V-max 600 is a "nice" sled too.

Take a look at Tom's lake racing results plus one other post on top speeds. As I said before the RX1 properly modified and set-up is 90%/95% equivilant to the Apex plus you keep $5/7 grand in your pocket.

That's all well and good in a straight line ;) But for a guy who's 6'-6" the '06 is the poop as far as ergo's - except for the faulty hand-warmers.

Sure it's a good sled, engine wise, I just don't like being constantly reminded of the fact that I can't have a better fitting/handling/riding/quicker sled out-of-box than 2 seasons ago. Hey Tom, how about a smiley with empty pockets LOL

But I do like that I only have maybe 1/4 to 1/2 of what some of you guys ended up putting into your sleds to get them real close, and functioning handwarmers.

Maybe articulating risers with some added seat foam would help.

I did that too

I've done

Expert-X
ECP's
Bender can
162 picks
136" ext.
Ohlins rear (sold skid and shock)
6" Carbides
longer cables
extra tank cover (customizing)
extra exhaust shrouds (customizing)
Powermadd hand-guards w/mirrors
pivot riser & 2" ext.
Stuffed the seat with 4" of foam (turned out pretty good)

Oh I know my buds will see this thread too - No offense fellas. With all the rave about the '06's, it's a wonder we RX guys have anything exciting to share at all? LOL

I rode the demo sleds and thought the 06's were just great. Yet I am still pumped to ride my RX1 for the season. Last years snow sucked so I didn't get that many miles on. Plus I put on ulmer clutch kit and filters and a bunch of other stuff. I new when I went to ride the demos that no matter how much I like them I will let them work the bugs out for a year. I think I'm gonna buy the nytro anyway. Every sled rides great when the trails are nice, I want to be able to pound the trails when they are bad. I hope they FI the nytro and put it in the delta II for 07.

Yeah, I'm pretty pumped to ride too. Just not a new one. But - as friends are, they like to trade rides - I just know I'll regret it.

I could not affort the Apex either. I had the Attak ordered, but wife decided to go to college to study this winter. BTW, the Apex GT is still a way better ride than my '03 and '05 RX-1. I rode the proto gt for more than 50 miles in April. I want one, maybe in '07?

Yeah, I too can't wait to try out a new Apex or Attak, and I hope that it handles more like my old Sx or SRX than my RX-1(which is what I'm hearing). The RX-1 has a motor that can be held wide open for miles without fear of burning down, that in itself is alot of fun, but the fun factor compared to good handling deeper snow capable trail sleds is not there. Don't get me wrong, 4 stroke is where it's at for me because of the reliability issues compared to 2 strokes, and if these new Yamaha's handle like I hear they do, I too will have to buy one once I try one !!
