Will a 2 inch handle bar riser fit with stock cables on a 03 RX-1? Or do I need to make modifications or buy longer cables?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I would also like to raise mine on 03 RX to 2" max. From what I gather only the throttle cable might have to be longer. Some have and some haven't had to go to a MTN cable. 2" is the max however.

I added 2" to my 03, np problem. There is a brass color u shaped bracket that the cables run through, that you have to remove. Also if you remove the rivit on the bottom of the handlebar you can roll the bars fwd.

2" will work fine. Ditto on the rivet.

Yes, and you may also want to try a pivot riser. Great mod.

sky dog it would work with your stock cables you have to take the gold colored cable guide off.

Maybe mine was a 2 1/2" riser because it would not work. When you turned all the way to the right TORS would kick in.

On my Warrior with a 2" riser a hard right turn would cause my TORS to kick in but usually right before the throttle would goose for a fraction of a second and give me a good scare. It never happened on the trail but always when tight turning in parking lots, gas stations, etc.

i was also going to put a 2" riser on my sled plus a set of powermadd handguards. i was gonna put on a lower windshield but was wondering if the handguards will hit the windshield with only a 2" riser or do i gotta go with a bigger riser.

Me too. I had it on there with the stock cable but I could not pivot the bars very far. Not how I wanted them.
Once I turned and pulled the cable..holy crap did I take a side spin....
GET THE LONGER CABLE..... :exc:

A 2" riser will work with the stock cable if you remove the rivet on the bottom of your handle bars and rotate the bars to near straight up and down in addition to removing the bracket that the cables and wires are routed through at the top of the steering post.
I had 2 3/4" of rise on my RX-1 mtn with stock cables and the bars rotated forward; however, the handguards will hit on any windshield with the bars this way. I now have Fly bars/billet hooks, 8" FLy black powder coated pivot risers, SLP stainless brake line and MPI longer cable for the additional height added. My handguards will easily clear my low windshield now.
Here are side pictures of my sled at stock, with 2 3/4" risers pivoted to allmost vertical/stock cables and my end result after Fly equipment was added. I have sold my stock mtn cable and brake line allready.
