I also posted this in the RX forum:
I let a local-to-me grass racer borrow a set for his 2004 RX1. He naturally has my Air Kit installed and he picked up from .5 to .75 tenths of a second on a 500 foot track. So far things look good for they to work well.

Hey Freddie I was checking out a set of your rings and noticed that when you sit one in the filter there is a lip past the point where the ring sits. The ID of the spot where the lip is has to be about an 1/8 of an inch smaller than the ID of the ring. I assume it would be a big help if we trimmed this off. There is a lot of meat in that area of the filter so I don't think it would hurt it. What do you think?

I made 1 set like you describe above. They made the same power on the dyno as the filters alone. And yes, the lip goes into the filters. My thinking on this "lip" is that it acts like a "funnel" of sorts.

Looks good but when u added the rings did u do any jetting? Looks like it begins to lean out with the velocity rings.
what A/F do you shot for 13.0??? I think maybe adding a bit more fuel u may pick up some more power?

This engine actually got leaner everywhere except mid 90 MPH versus dynorun number 1. The dotted line reads that anything above is lean and anything below is rich. JDMCRX...that dotted line is at 13.0 to 1. What we do is amke a few heatsoaked dynoruns as this is the way you will ride the sled. We then see where the power is best and tune for that number on the air/fuel meter. No 2 engine react the same to air/fuel.

I did no jetting in this case as it is not hideously lean. The sparkplugs looked real good.

Freddie, When I was talking about trimming the lip I was refering to the lip in the filter. It is about a 1/4 inch past where the ring stops. I think just trimming it with a razor knife would work.

That is exactly what I did on the dyno sheet above. I actually buffed it away with a die grinder and flap wheel.

I did the same as well with a razor knife but I was keeping it to myself
