Ultra Q performance muffler ?????

I was looking at my dennis kirk book today and found a ULTRA Q muffler for the apex/ attak sleds. It says 3 hp gain 7 lb. weight savings. Also it has a durable ceramic finish. They say it's trail/populated areas friendly. Price is $303.99 & free shipping. Anyone know anything about this system ???
 
From what I gather it's not as quite as stock, but damn close to it. Maybe I'll have to get one and find out.
 
I think it would be really cool to have a louder exhaust system..

but then i think about how annoying the stock exhaust can be now..

I just wouldnt want anything louder than stock.. Quieter definitly
 
I just ordered mine this morning. I found it at hi-performance eng. for $263.99. So I called dennis kirk, & they sold it to me for a buck less. Free shipping,& no tax. It's back ordered now but I'll post a report when it's installed.
 
Can someone post some picture of this exhaust system. Also hows the sound??? Does Ultra Q stand for ultra quiet?? ;)!

Here's a link from the mfr, which is Skinz. Scroll down to the bottom of the page. They do not claim to be quieter than stock, but "close to original sound levels."

I'll believe it when I hear it, but until then I will stay far away. I am 100% opposed to louder than stock exhaust systems in any public location (except a race track).
 
Which silencers are you guys looking at? The only ones I saw were for 2-Strokes. I didn't see any for a 4-stroke.

They even list dB ratings...85 for the Ultra Q, 95 for the Super Q. I have no idea how those numbers compare with stock soundl levels. Plus their numbers are all given as +/- 7dB so they're VERY rough estimates.
 
I believe stock manufacturing limit is under the 78 decibel limit ? is that still a regulation?

If so then it is alot more sound enegy as it the decibel measurement is "Logrithmic" meaning every 1 decibel equals 10x the energy, but the human ear does not percieve with the same sensitivity. But I believe that is louder significantly if my memory serves me well 3-6 decibels is percieved as doubling to the ear. Hope I am wrong and sure we will find out soon from some younger brains not so far from college physics.

I am also no longer intrerested in louder sleds, I want powerful stealth!!

I talked with a rep from skinz, and asked him why there system was only 7 lb. lighter then stock, when most others are around 11 lb. He told me becouse they use more sound reducing material then everyone else. That is why they have one of the quietest aftermarket systems out there. We will find out when my system arrives.
 
It has arrived, and i'm impressed with the build quality. All the welds look to be good, the ceramic coating is white and also looks good. Unlike the stock unit it has 2 pipes that run from the headers to the silencer. Weight with the gaskets and clamps installed was a shade over 10 Lbs. The install was very simple, it slid right on, everything lined up perfect. It also comes with very detailed instructions with color pics. (should someone need them) Now for the good part, it sounds GREAT. No one will ever know you have a performance exhaust on. It has a lower more mello sound, and it's NOT loud or tinny sounding. I had the quite version of the whiteknuckle exhaust on my RX-1, and it was much more noisey. I think I'm going to like this mod alot. More HP, less weight, and it's QUITE.
