cold starts

Was this with the 5-30 or 0-30 oil? I switched to the 0-30 oil to help. The motor will not fire without oil pressure at one of the sensors. Hoping the lighter oil would help, maybe I wasted my time changing.

Dang, you just keep adding weight onto that thing! LOL! Where's the remote starter so it's warming up while you're still sitting in the pickup?!?!?

5-30 Mobil 1

Dang, you just keep adding weight onto that thing!
Supercharger lines, intercooler fan, N20 system, Pre-heaters, OptiMate III battery lead, probably added 5lbs in wiring and ny-ties alone. I'm scared to weigh it...LOL

Let us know how that works
I'll do that

Hows she runnin this winter hammer....kinda miss your update in my private thread on SW.....thistledoo

Geeezus, that thread is STILL going !!!

Haven't posted on SW since last May....I've finally broken the cycle !!!

Still having a little trouble kicking the "internet forum" habit completely because TY4 is so fricken cool and its both Yamaha and 4-Stroke specific.
:rules

Well I wont tell anyone if you post on the private thread....alot of guys miss your input ect, so a check up once and a while would be great. I ended up running her stock again but still havent totally out ruled boost....just want the most reliable oost if you know what I mean ;)! Sexy thistle, not you, the sled !!! The deal is this: I have less than 3hrs of "free time" a day. At one point the Posts + PMs + Emails + Phone calls were burning up 5+hrs a day, cutting into work, and other activities I needed to be doing. The majority of the time answering the same questions over and over and over. I could never make it as a school teacher. It got to the point I had to turn off the PM function and I finally just quit posting about 6-months after that. I only get a few PMs a week over here on TY4 but some things never change so its still answering the same basic questions over and over (when a search would have given them the information they needed). Between those, the phone calls, and the emails I have the dispensing of information back down to a manageable rate. I do occasionally post here when I have constructive input or find something that works good. I do this for fun, when it starts to become work, its not fun anymore.

My brother was having the same problem as you with his Apex. The 0-30w oil helps.

A fully synthetic 5w-30w falls well within the temp range I was in.

I'll switch to 0W-30W next oil change anyway.....Thanks for the heads-up.

Doesn't yamaha make a block heater or is the for two smokers?I thought I seen one in there accessories catalog.

They sell a 110V-AC in-line coolant heater.

SMA-HEATR-CL-NT...........$30.95
Fits '94~'02 liquid-cooled twins, all 4-stroke models

But I would need 60-miles of extension cord...... :o|

The way I have it setup now, I can use a battery or my tow vehicles 12V-DC.

60 miles lol,you better stick withyour set up then. That's great idea. ;)!

I just went out today and cranked the RX1 to go for a ride. Even had to haul out the jumper cables and sill no dice. Eventually gave up when I smelled that tell-tale stench of a flooded sled. I think I need to get a block-heater arrangement going. Nothing worse than getting all geared up and not being able to get the sled fired.
