When rpm,s drop to 8 k after a launch it ain,t the clutching; been der dun dat....gotta give it more fuel down low. Good write up tho. My Attak is bogging out exactly like your on hard take off,s. Feeding it more fuel fixes this & not all the sleds are doing it. On warm bad air days it is pretty good. On days when the barometer is high it craps out. My 06 was bad but my 07 is worse.

Interesting thought...I'm not fully convinced as it feels EXACTLY like clutching issues I went through when putting too many studs on past sleds I've set up. Though I'm certainly not questioning your experience and I never ran it with the ripsaw to know if the lesser traction would have helped it. I will definitely experiment with both fuel and clutching, and I appreciate the idea. Thanks!
Doesn't sound like you have this issue fixed on yours either yet?
Super paper! Wish I can write like you!
I don't have that 8k problem and I'm surprise you don't have the wheel problem that many of us have.

My attak does it with stock clutching & stock track. It does it with hh,s; roller secondary & stock track. It is way worse on days with a high barometer. Ya; it does feel like clutching & I pursued that angle but that,s was not what it was. Been to busy with other stuff to really pursue it cus it,s fine as a trail machine for now.

Great report! Thanks for taking the time. Not much to add. I suspect your clutching issue is related to track. Allan Ulmer would be the guy to talk to. I'm running a 07 Attak GT and still in break in mode. Running Ice Ripper track and love it. Put 4000miles on one last year(06Attak). I'm playing with GTY-R front shock adjustments. Front feels stiff compared to my 06. Also running Slydog(trail) skis. 6 inch Triplepoints 1/2 inch skisavers shimmed in front. Electronic adjust on the fly rear shock is nice. Find I use it more than I thought I would. Again< craze1cars Nice report.
Thanks guys...
Just remembered one little point I forgot to mention about the rear suspension. I DID have some minor damage that I found recently...bottomed it out so durn hard at some point that it split both of the rear bottom-out rubber stoppers right in two....looks like they were cut straight down with a knife! Rails and upper swingarm look undamaged at the contact points however. Strapped them together with a couple tight hose clamps to allow them to continue doing their job, but I gotta get those bumpers replaced before I beat it again...obviously I do use 'em!

Why the toe-in for the skis? Can't say I've ever seen anywhere in any explanation from any sled manufacturer or ski maker to put the skis in a toe-in position. I just recently noticed mine in a slight toe-in with my Razors which explains why the handling sucked. Just curious.
Thanks, and good report.

I too am running Slydogs and read Allen Ulmer say many times that for the "Slydogs" toe in (Not out) flat out works! I tried it myself and I agree.

Mr. Craze1,
Are you running the stock sway bar... and what is your take on handling...specifically cornering... with your setup. Additionally, where do you have the front springs set?
Thanks for the post BTW.

excellent write up craze1.
I have to agree with everything you wrote. My attak only has the powderhounds, but tracks better than any sled I have owned. The only thing I would like to add is that I need a taller riser on mine, probably a powermadd or such, b/c I am 6,3. With the taller seat the bars just seem to low for me. Also, a intense track would be great over the ripsaw. Other that that I have 1100 happy miles this year.

I installed the mountain apex riser on my attak. It fits perfect; cables work. When your sitting down tho it,s like driving a harly....need a pivot adjustment.

Stock sway bar, front suspension springs set so they barely touch the stops at full extension. Corners perfect, just the way I like it...no push, no fishtail, no ski lift, very very aggressive.
My 07 stock unstudded attak w/400 miles drops off rpm at wot for a little bit also.Feels like it's over clutched.Let me know if you guys come up with a fix!I'm going to AVOID races untill then!
