Just a few small changes I can see from prototype to production! This sled is gonna rock! Watch more posts tomorrow and through next week of 136" kit being added!

I can't wait for your clutch kit with these 136 tracks!

I have a couple questions:

Can the slydog (skis and wheels) be ordered multi colored as in 3 or 4 colors?

Could you please weigh the stock battery? (seeing how it's out)

Are you going to offer perfomance "packages" for the new FX Nytro? to include upgrades in clutching, exhaust, fuel management, etc?

Oh and nice looking sled! I'm sure it will be looking even nicer shortly!!

Thanks!!

Any chance you can tell us exactly what you've noticed is different between prototype and production ? I'm sure there's more that are curious as well.

yammiman, i will have too mountain fx nytros here in a few weeks. you can ride one of mine if we can hook for an in season ride if you are interested in the long track.

i cannot wait to start modding this thing. larger fuel tank, graphics, powder coating and maybe a few performance up grades. HMMMMMMMMM? yeah, thats the ticket. ski

Throttle Jockey-thanks for the info!

DennistheMenaceRacing-looks like you are right about the demo in Martin-know the place well-raced my car there a few times!

Ski-I'll take you up on that offer-maybe we can do the Canada trip this year or we can go to my cabin-just make sure you bring that extra 40th Anniversary Kit with you so I can arm wrestle you for it!!! LOL

The Slydog skis can be ordered in multi colors, pretty much any design you want. The wheels I am uncertain of exactly as it is literature we just received and I haven't had a chance to talk to Slydog myself about them yet. I will have more information on the wheels next week.

The stock battery weighs 15 lbs and we already have a battery available that is 10 lbs lighter and should still work great in cold weather temps.

Performance packages will be available. Upgrades in clutching will begin testing shortly, exhaust system work is fitted and ready to go to the dyno (likely October for dyno time), and fuel & ignition management systems are finished already as well (just need dyno time).

Mainly just some little refinements in the fitment of the plastic. There used to be a hook in the back of the side panels and it is now just a tab. Just some little refinements to give it that Yamaha quality!

is the jackshaft actually bigger than on the rx1 and apex?

Yes the new FX Nytro jackshaft is 1.10" in diameter where as the Apex/RX-1 was .981" in diameter.

We will have a standard FX Nytro RTX (non-reverse) and a FX Nytro MTX as shop sleds as well for testing and development!

Time to disassemble the chaincase!

First removing the plastic panels!

Little tabs hold the plastic into place. I use a small flat blade screw driver to pop them up and remove them!

Need a 10mm socket to remove these (on bottom/underside portion of panel).

You can check the coolant level in the overflow tank by a little sight area just behind the left shock in front of the clutch.

The pics and the info is just awesome!!! I also noticed that the clutch cover now has a pin to keep it closed, before is was a little black lever. :pics: :letsnow:

Yes, the clutch cover now has a latch pin instead of the black plastic push lock like the prototype models had!

You will know all you need to know when I get done! LOL!

You have an awesome job. Get to take new sleds apart, test products, test ride 'em. I don't know what I would do with a job like that. I would never retire..lol

I know everything isn't pleasant, but you gotta love it.
