We will be in Tug Hill that weekend. How far is this Slickers place from Tug Hill (I have not got the details yet so i am not sure exactly where we are staying on the Hill but I know we are going). Can we get there by snowmobile or would it be best to trailer over.

We rode this trail last week. not much snow then. You can ride over, but don't forget to stop and get your trail pass. honk

Hey Honk, how ya been? I hope the wife is doing well/better. So from the Tug Hill area, how far/long does it take to ride to Slickers? Would we be better off staying in the Old Forge area (instead of Tug Hill) anyways because we are going up on a weekend (less traffic)? How much more of a drive is Old Forge than Tug Hill from where we live?

Yeah it would be better to trailer the sleds over, or get a hotel. your about 1-2 hours ride to slickers from tug hill using the brattingham trail. you only about 1 hour drive by car to get to old forge from tug hill area.

Its alot more fun to ride over.Thats what your there for anyway! couple hours anyway., and the trails are good all over the whole area now.

All the rest of the information is in the TURBO/Supercharger Section. If anybody needs more information. ME and SPEED will be at slickers friday night from 7:00 pm on if you want to come out for some drinks and discuss any more details, etc.

Will we need to purchase a trail pass for the this trip. I would like to come out and meet some people but I already spent almost a 100 to register my sled. Almost 100 on a Vast permit (Vermont) and 225 on a Quebec Permit. I am not spending any more permit money this year....

sadly you do, i think its 45 for the weekly trail pass. and 80 for the season. The ticket is something like 300 if you get caught.

is the ride through the old forge trails, or just the main coridor. i do believe the main trail through and up to the lake you do not need a pass on, but to enjoy the other trails in the area, you do need it. i'm not 100% on this, but i figured i would throw it out there for someone to find out

You can ride big moose road without a pass but every trail in and out of old forge needs a permit to ride on. We will be going up trail 1/pipeline and trail 2. But we also might take 1 to 3 to 8 to 232 to trail 2. same end result but a different loop and some nicer trails.
