I know this topic seems like it won't go away but I have to ask. Is anyone else having issues with there 08's or even 07's hand warmers. Last weekend the wife and I were up in the U.P. it was 20 degrees or warmer. Her grips never even got warm. I checked the wiring the next morning, everthing was conected had either 6.9 or 7.9 ohms on each grip. The voltage was fluctuating from 3 to 6 before clutch engagement RPM. I even rode it on a long straight to see if it just needed high RPM's to get it going. Nothing, Stone cold at any RPM at any speed. To illistrate how bad it was my 06' RTX with the stock bars and heating setup felt like a furnace compared to hers. In fact we ended up switching sleds so she could warm her hands. Good for me, bad for her, she's not a big fan of the Apex's weight and ergos. I don't know what else it could be but if anyone else has had an issue or has found a solution let me know. I have my 06' redesigned bars still so I may try and hook those up to see if it's the grips. We'll see what happens.

hmm.. i have exactly the same problem on mine, they never even get warm, cold all the time.

ive had more electrical problems, where you are supposed to take voltage to xtrainjection(MCX turbo) so aint the voltage stable, så it didnt work well. ive had to connect to another point, it worked the first 450km well...

same with my 08' mtx, no heat on the hand warmers. the thumb get warm enough. :o|

Just for reference guys My 07 Mtn. Lite heats up really good. I would think the only difference would be you guys have hooks on the 08's.

Problem is solved, there is a Service message according to this, older MTN has another BAR without hooks, and now they have connected the new bar wrong, seriel older and now paralell, so there is a cable kit that has to be mounted, got mine Kit today, going to mount is tonight.

:yam:

No Sh^t,
Did they just send you the kit or did you have to order it?

Thanks for the update.
:rocks:

i called my dealer and they had never heard of it, but at dealers shop they heard of it but never mounted any kit yet, i got it in my hand from them and mounted it self, easy job to do self.

kit number: 90891-50150

Thanks guys!

hand warmers not working

Hey guys, Purchased an 08 from the dealer up here in Anchorage Ak. Took the wife out riding and experienced the same problem, no heat.
Took it back to the dealer and THEY found out that there was a new wiring harness needed from Yamaha to correct the problem. Took about 2 weeks to get corrected because mine was the first one they did. Works fairly well. Not as good as some other sleds in the fam.

Called my dealer and they said they called Yamaha and no kit or anything about the handwarmers was known. Said to bring it in and they would look at it. Yeah drive it 2 hours so they can say yeah everthing looks good. WTF

i did post kit number earlier LaLaLa

call them and say kit number and if they dont trust you call another dealer.. :die

Well called the dealer again today and WOW! they have the bulletin and are aware of what I'm talking about. Finally, proof that I'm not B!%ching for no reason. Now just have to wait for it to arrive and run the sled up there to have them install. They say that they can't just ship it to me, oh well at least there's a fix. Yel_low your help is greatly appreciated, it seems as though it takes some time for the bulletins to travel the earth. Again thanks for the help.

I have an '07 w/ Apex Mtn bars on it. I think they're from an '06 or '07, They too suck. Would the kit work for these as well? I'm pretty sure they're the same bars that are on the '08s
