A few of us are kicking around the idea of a TY ride in the Mercer, WI. area in mid Feb. maybe.

At this point, we are just wanting to see who would be interested. No date has been set yet.

Lets get another one going, seeing how the Minnesota ride was canceled this season.

we are goping to be in the area from the 15th to the 24th. spending the night in mercer on the 20th for sure but some of those dates are adjustable. except for the first weekend, we are doing christmas with jens family, as we were unable to make it up there yet.
we'll keep our eye on this post!
 
I'd like to go on one of these. The weekend of the 16th would be best for me. Mercer would be great too. Wausau wouldn't be a bad choice either.
 
I'd love to make it , but it might be a short notice thing for me. I'll keep watching...
Nick would be better to call the Northern, he knows one of the girls that works there pretty well, but he's still in Muni all this week. I'll leave him a message to call me, but I'm sure they would want to know approx. how many rooms to block out. If somebody could let me know hwo many would be a good number to block for something like this, I'll get on it.

Mark and I will be at the Great Northern in Mercer on Thursday and Friday (Feb 21 and 22)...we just made reservations.

We asked about the availability for Friday and Saturday (Feb 22 and 23)...

Friday they have 10 rooms available and Saturday they have less.

Just so you know...hope to see you there.
 
I'm thinking the weekend of the 22nd will work for me. Got other plans for the 15th.

Looks like the rooms are going fast, are we gonna make this happen? Say the weekend of the 22nd?
 
Works for me!!! MrSled also mentioned in the other thread that he is in. Weekend of the 22nd.
 
If you are looking for some where different to ride, Price County Wisconsin (Phillips area) has nice groomed trails.

I have a reliable source up there that says that the trails are in excellent condition with very little traffic on them. And that the hotels are pretty empty too.
 
I grew up riding in Price County. I have to agree - when it comes to grooming, they really know their stuff.

I was riding in that area two weeks ago, and the trails were great.
 
Sooooo, how many for Philips and how many for Mercer?

I am hoping we have a final decision by next week so we can get rooms booked, time off work etc.

My vote is still for the Mercer area at this point.......
 
I would strongly consider going either place if there was going to be anyone that would ride Monday. A little bit of a haul for me to leave after work on a Friday and only be able to ride Saturday and a little on Sunday. If this gets set up and people are going to ride Monday, I'm almost a lock!
 
I was there (Phillips) Monday and the trails were PRISTINE. Stay at the Skyline in Phillips. Ira the Owner is a groomerdriver.

If you like to see "winding trail" signs, that the place to go. Great area!

Have fun...the 22nd don't work for me. I'd like to see your sled in person Vinnie!
 
I make an awful lot of trips north ever year. It'll happen, I'm sure. I usually post when I'm headed north.
