Well it started when I bought the sled never made it home hit an I beam in the snow. Then the voltage regulator over the week end and now this.
The belt was squealing bad on take off and sluggish.God I love this sled but I cant ride it with out having some problem with it. Do I need to replace this half or the clutch the whole clutch how hard is it to fix and should I get new springs??

I cant tell very well by the pics, but it looks like you lost the plastic buttons that the helix rides on. Install new buttons and maybe the helix.

But what I dont understand is the dealer put new ones in it before it was put out for sale. I have only put 400 miles on it this year like it to be 4000 but cant do it here.

They could have been installed incorrectly. Go back to the dealer. Hopefully they will be good enough to fix it for nothing. I feel your pain, I bought a 04 warrior at the start of this year. Everytime I took it out something happened. I loved that sled, but was loosing precious seat time. I sold it and bought a Nytro.

That first pic looks like you lost some of the metal that supports the slider. That being the case, the sliders probably will not stay put. Is there base material broken off?
Also, there were a lot these exact failures with early models. I would put "gentle" pressure on the dealer to ask Yamaha replace it. Who knows Yamaha may cover it even if your seld is out of warranty, because it is a known problem on early models.
For example: I just put the pressure on my dealer for Arctic Cat to replace the gas tank on my 2003 660 4-stroke. There was a known problem with the filler necks cracking. The sled has been off warranty for 4 years. The filler neck cracked this year. They are providing me with a new tank. I have to do the swap.
Again, it pays to have a good relationship with the dealer.

We had this happen to us on a trip got back the buttons were gone my buddy ruined an evpensive heilex . aftermarket buttons were the problem I put the old one back in and 2000 miles later they are still good . Some of the aftermarket buttons do not have the coller on the little shaft on the button and they breack off and destroy clutch .

Had this happen to mine a couple trips ago.
Lost one button and part of the post.
Ended up getting a roller clutch on Ebay.
No more weak posts!
If you do have to replace it, get the updated (2006 or newer) part. You can replace just the half with the posts.
Or I have a new in the box team roller secondary (TSS 04) I can sell cheap! (At least relatively cheap lol, for about the same cost as just the clutch half from Yamaha)
Hope this helps.

I won't complain they replaced the helix and I only paid for the buttons. Yes 2 of the tabs are broke off that's why I'm keeping a close eye on it. Nothing was broke off at the base of them just the tabs that stick up. I'm going to replace it the summer I would rather be safe than have this happen again.

If they didn't replace the bad half of the secondary, it's very likely it won't last long.
When you lock up the track for just a split second (Like diving into a corner), then nail the throttle (like exiting a corner), the belt has stuck down in the non-turning secondary, then when you nail the throttle, the secondary slams shut onto the helix.
That is the "clunk" you hear once in a while in those conditions.
Unfortunately, this will most likely break the buttons off without the post backing.
(And is what usually breaks the post to start with.)
I was going to try JB weld and paper clips as rebar in the JB Weld on mine, but no-one had the buttons from Bay City to the bridge in Michigan on that trip, so I had to come home early. Home 3 days early for lack of a $2 part, now that sucked...
JB weld may work (if reinforced), but not sure I would bet a trip on it.
Definitely wouldn't bet a trip on your current situation, especially if you haven't fixed the post problem.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, I would suggest getting it right before leaving to save the headaches.

I suspect that the new sliders/pads will fall out very quickly and you will ruin the new helix. You might be able to have a welder add enough material to the area and then grind in the 90 degree angle to keep the sliders in place.
There is a lot of side pressure put on the sliders/pads. That little tab is needed to keep them in place. The little posts on the sliders/pads typically will not do the trick by themselves.
I am really surprised that the dealer thought this would work.

I have the roller clutch brand new.
I can sell it for $180. (The half from Yamaha is about $175)
It is a bolt on for the yamaha.
I need to know asap if you want it fast, am leaving for a 5 day sled trip this evening.
