I would like to have a summer TY get together this year. I would like to have it at my home in Wausau WI if at all possible. We could have some people pop a tent up, or crash in the house or stay at a hotel. We have 3 hotels 5 miles from my home. I would like to know who would be able to drive or fly over for a long weekend and attend an outing like this. We also have CWA airport about 5 miles from my house. We also live about 10 miles from a big flowage that we could go boating, tubing, knee boarding, wake boarding and so on, if we had a few that wanted to bring their boats. I have 1 boat that can haul 9. We might even be able to rent a pontoon boat or barrow friends.

Or would it be better to have something up in the U.P.?

Tom,

I would be interested for sure, whether its a fly in or drive in would be pending but count the wife and I in. Are you leaning towards a certain weekend at all?

Tom,

Wausau works for me. I would bring my small boat. It would be nice to get somming fishing in.
If the lake is deep enough mabey some diving.

And some BBQ'n :jump: :jump:

diving would be cool frogg! how bout a round of golf in the morning, while every one is sleeping off the hangovers?
s.x., if you guys are driving around through chicago and need a place to crash before driving the rest of the way. we are right there. tom is about 4-4.5 hours from our place. make sure you bring chad with you!

Mark,

I/we certainly appreciate the offer and may just take you up on it, time will tell. I will be watching airfare too. Somtimes the cost of a flight will outway the drive time. Mapquest says 9 hours (600 miles!), If I drive that far I am staying for a week! LOL

If we fly I could probably hide Chad in my luggage! LOL

I have a Cabin Cruiser on Lake Erie also and along with friends can handle about 20-30 people. Major Party!
No cost to stay, just help pitch in for gas!

If not, I may make WI. Kinda hard in the middle of boating season, I hear the call of the lake already!

I am going to set the date in stone now. Aug 8th – 10th. My house is less then 5 miles form these hotels if you want to book a room or as I suggested, we have room in my house to crash and I have room in the yard to toss up a tent. We have a fire pit in the back yard…. so it will be just like camping. For some reason if we get rain and can’t use the boats we could always go ATVing….or just sit in the garage and shoot the poop and relax!!

should be able to make it up for saturday only 2 hours from home what lake do you boat on or is it on the river.

Bummer I would not be able to make that weekend. I should be able to do any other weekend in Aug.

Tom, have you considered seeing how many people would do a TY silver lake sand dunes trip? I know for wisconsin folks, there is a ferry that goes from green bay to ludington...which is 25 minutes north of silver lake.

I would imagine many of us TY'ers have four wheelers/dirt bikes/dune buggies that we could ride at the dunes. I know i would be game for something like that.

Thats something we could plan for another day. We ride on the river and the Dubay Flowage, that I know really well. I would guess 10 to 12 miles from one end to the other with the river ride up to Mosinee.

Mike - if you and Cindy 'the wife' make the trip via the UP, you are welcome to crash at our place if needed.

Thanks Gina, your offer is very much appreciated. Mapquest says its faster via Chicago, Sooooo if we drive we would more than likley head that way. I am hoping airfare will come down so we will just hop in a plane!!
As long as I can walk around in my towel I really dont care!!

I know - I know - I gotta stop, buts so frickin funny I cant
