Has anyone added up the cost of the parts needed to convert the 08 to the 09 geometry? I've heard it includes upper and lower A arms, ball joints, spindles, and maybe the steering arms? I can get a significant discount at a local dealership, so the discounted cost might be close enough to the cost of new skis, carbides, etc. to make the cost difference pretty small. Anyone have the retail price for all the parts?

My guess is that you could probably use he cost of the 08' parts to get an idea of the cost. Just go to Port Yamaha's web site. They have a fiche with the price of each component. For everything your looking at well over a grand, retail.

you need to replace the Bulk head as well not just the suspension components themselves.

I assume you're refering to the front tube clip??? I had heard this as well but haven't seen anyone confirm it.

Same here, aside from what I've read in the forums, I have yet to see something from Yamaha that points out the differences between the '08 and '09 subframe. The lower gusset on the 09's is the only difference I've seen so far.

Spindles, tie rods, upper A-arms and sub frame are all different on the 09's. They had a complete sub-frame, with a-arms spindles etc. at Hay Days showing the difference.

Did they explain each change? If so did you listen, could you explain to us as I've looked at both but never side by side, honestly other then some gusseting it's hard to tell. At least with out knowing what your looking for. I've heard lots of this and that but nothing official other than the video which really didn't clear much up for me.

No you dont!! Just wanted to mess with you ...LOL its the front tube frame.

09 arms / parts will fit on a 08 frame (front clip) If a guy was to buy all the parts to change to 09 it would be $1200 - $1500 or more. You guys saying that you have to change the front clip are completly wrong.here are pics showing the difference in the 2, 09 clip pic has the arrows showing the difference. personally for the guys that have 08's check your ball joints and toe out. both are critical in handling. I don't see to many guys buying up the parts to convert to an 09 front end

hey guys i need to find the pics i want in another forum but the other forum is off-line for now!!!
but my suggestion is to cut and shim the upper a-arms where they attach to the frame so we can change the CASTER angle so the nytro would be LESS tweaky!!!

sorry for my bad english.....dam snowman for Quebec!!!!
I WILL BE BACK WITH PICS ASAP!!

Looks like the just added some gussets plates over top of the old part and welded a new gusset in the back

This is correct, but they also made the top a-arm bushing larger, so the top arms are differnet and the spindle angle is raked more. And the spindles are totally different, they now have the tie rod bolting to the most outside edge verses the inside of the spindle, therfore making the tie rods longer.
