Looks a whole lot better than the one I just dropped off at the dealer for repair.
I've got 1800mi on my '06 Attak and the right side weld (up top) was broke and seperated and the left was cracked half way around. The rail was cracked as well.

Will the 08 pivot arm fit on an 07 skid? No problems with mine yet, but sounds like it is just a matter of time.

To my knowledge it should be fine, same shock, bushings and rails...

Can someone point out locations of known cracks and failures on '06-'07 Pivot arms.

I put one of those in my '07 last fall. I'll know soon enough if IT held up.

I have broken 3 of them one on an 05 RX 1 on an 06 RTX and one on an 03 that I installed the Bender Pro-action upgrade on. All of them broke in diff. places always across tubes next to the welds. They were all rusted from the inside out and the metal was thin at the joints where they made the welds. All of the arms are interchangeable.

Is Yamaha covering them with the extended warranty?
I've heard both ways, some yes, some no. I just had Yamaha refuse to warranty mine with a crack in it. How do they determine to replace it or not and how can they warranty some and not others.

Oh the golden question
i gave up on the fight a long time ago. I guess it depends on your dealer. I have had all of the issues you read about here on this site with all of my sleds and even bought extended warranties and have never had one item covered.
I buy it - I brake it - I fix it. I blew a motor on my 03 and my warranty expired the week before. The extended warranty starts when you buy and I spring checked an 03 RX and picked it up in Ausust of 02 and the 3 yr. deal expired in December of 06 so i guess if you do a lot of summer riding your covered. And to beat it all they won't sell you a motor.
I even bought an 06 RTX and went with the dealers extended warranty instead of Yammi's and totalled the sled 2 wks later. The Ins. co. would not re-imburse me for the $1000 and the dealer would not move it to a new sled.
I know some guys are relentless and hound both Yammy and the dealer I guess I just give in 2 easy.

Thank you. Is there any other known places I should carefully examine?

The warantee should cover it, but as stated before, I think the dealer has alot to do with it in the way it's presented.
I just found out that Yamaha declined to fix it under warantee, they said it was "abuse". Due to the low mileage, (1850 miles on an '06), it should not have broke. They did offer to pay for the parts but the labor is up to me.
This really ticks me off because they have covered other people with the same issue and they know it's a weak part, which is why they updated it with a stronger one. I'm not gonna throw too much of a fit (like I normally would) because my dealer was able to hook me up with a new pivot arm, new rail (it's cracked too), new shock, and adjuster cable. All free.
After it's all done I think I'll have me a nice conversation with a Yamaha rep to let them know what I think about thier "Abuse" theory. They also need to understand that here in Fairbanks, AK there are no groomed trail systems, just driven trails and backcountry. So what they think is abuse is daily travel. If thier suspensions can't handle it they shouldn't sell them here.
O.K. vent done. I feel a little better.

I ear last year that bender was working on a stronger mono pivot arm.
Can some body confirm this?
I know a lot of people will be interested in a stronger pivot arm.
They may be working on it but the ones they sell with the kit is all stock yammy parts they just make the brackets to attach stock proaction rails and teh shock is their own.(made by Penske)
