Just buy them from your dealer. They're $10. They are located above your left foot. There are 4 relays in total. 3 are the same (fuel injection, load, rad fan) and 1 is different (headlights). Normally the fuel injection is the only one that has an issue. It is the closest to the chassis on mine but their loaction varies on each machine for some reason. Good idea to identify it and carry a spare incase it won't start on the trail.

Cheers.

Yamaha was supposed to have updated the relay in 07 but some r still having problems. Rearrange the relays so that the fuel pump relay is on the outside which makes it easier 2 change.

never had issues with my relays, over 4000mi.gunna go buy some just never no when its your day! :yam:

The fuel pump relay and the headlight relay are the same and are right beside each other.
When my fuel relay started going bad I switched the two and the sled started right up and the headlight took about 10 sec. to come on. Went to the dealer and they gave me a new one under warantee. If your warantee is up they are about $10 or less.

The headlight relay is the only one that is different from the other 3 so it wasn't that one. It has 5 terminals instead of 4. You maybe switched it with the load relay that turned your lights on after it warmed up and activated. The headlight relay controls High/Low. Your fuel injection relay has the 4 following wires.
Coil - Red/White, Blue/Red.
Contacts - Red/Green, Red/Blue.
If you are worried about this in the future I would suggest locating this relay and moving it to the outside for easier access if it happens on the trail. Also, carry a spare in your warm pocket and you'll be good to go. ;)!
