Lot's of threads on skis and mention of them, but.... Is there anyone running the C&A XTX skis on the Nytro XTX? Thoughts, reviews? I have run C&A's in the past and loved them and am thinking of a set for my XTX.

Heard that they are pretty aggressive ski with heavy turning at slower speeds.
Personally I love C&A skis. I'm leaning towards outlaws.

I'm hoping to try the C&A Outlaw ski this weekend. They are very similar, just slightly narrower. I'll let you know how they fair.

I put on C&A XTs on my Nytro as soon as I got home with the sled. I run Outlaws on my Doo XP and love them. The Outlaws and XTs are very similar however the XTs are just over 7 inchs wide. Off trail they are awesome. THe bottom of the skis are ther same with the Outlaws and yes they are agressive. However the XTs and Outlaws use a different carbide. The Carbide on the Outlaws is a shorter carbide then the XTs. I run 9 inch shaper bars on both my sleds.
Some say they are really hard to turn. Well they are a tad harder however when you go into a turn, you can be 100% sure its not going to push. So it's worth the effort. Some adjusting with the suspension can eliminate alot of the hardness of turning the skis.
After using the Outlaws last year on my XP I will never go back to any other ski. If you ride agressive you will love the skis.

Dooman,
You're running the XT's, not the new XTX's right? I've had the XT's before on my attack and loved them. I'm curious how the XTX's are though with a slightly shorter keel. It seems like they made them specific for rider forward crossovers to alleviate the added stearing pressure I want to determine if they have the same bite but a bit less stearing effort or if you give up bite and push through the corners.
Leeko, did you make it up north? Was a great weekend for riding.. What did you think of the skis?

XTX C&A's
I was able to get 400 miles on my XTX this weekend in the UP. Awesome trip, great conditions. 1st day rode 2-3 inches of powder on top of hard pack until later we had packed powder conditions. The next day we started on packed powder and ended up taking a bunch of logging roads with 1-2 feet of powder. The XTX C&A's were a big improvement over stock and the Yami Mountain skis. They had a little bit of comfortable understeer in 2-3 inches of powder over hard pack. On packed powder they would carve awesome and added stability to the sled. 1-2 foot powder, they floated very well but, I feel the added stability made it harder to boondock. In the powder they divert snow away from the rider. I really liked how they tracked and they had minimal darting. I used 9 inch round bar carbides, this combo with the skis did increase slow speed steering effort.
I would recommend these skis for this sled. I am still tweaking suspension settings but these will be my ski of choice for this sled.

Leeko,
Didn't you have SLP SLT's on your XTX? If yes, how would you compare the SLT's to XTX's on hardpack.
I'm considering both for an XTX.
Thanks for the report.

dfroster,
I only had the SLT's on for about 20 miles then I hit a tree stump under the snow bending my subframe. Most of the that riding was done in a crusty/hard pack field. I didn't use them long enough or in enough varied conditions to give a proper assessment. They tracked better than the Mountain skis I had on it previously and had less steering effort. I would say they are a much better option than stock.
When I hit the stump I also bent the saddle on the SLP ski, so I called them to order a new one and asked about the what they recommend for the Nytro. Interestingly, they said that they tried their skis and they were not satisfied with the results.
I use the SLT's on my 136 SRX and I like the C&A's on my XTX so I will unlikely change them out again.
