Hello Riverrat,

I've been focusing on the 2005 RS Venture. Right now I'm at 39,945 miles and ready to roll 40,000 miles on Tuesday.

I have special plans and a special guest visiting to witness rolling 40K. I'll share some photos when the event occurs.

I rode the 2009 RS Venture GT this afternoon. I have almost 2.400 miles on it.

After riding the 2005 RS Venture for almost 4,000 miles and jumping on the new one I was able to notice a big difference. I tightened my middle shock spring preload one turn and it seems to be just about right based on the current snow conditions.

I'll be able to ride it more on Wednesday.

Next adjustment will be to tighten the front suspension springs a bit in order to find the right balance on the sled.

I do like the new sled!Thumbs Up

A new milestone for my 2005 RS Venture and the Genesis 120 engine.

I rolled 40,000 miles on Tuesday.

American Snowmobiler Editor Mark Savage, flew in from Milwaukee to ride for two days with myself and Yamaha's Maine Demo Leader, Scott Hanscom. We were able to show Mark "The County" and what is has to offer, witness rolling 40,000 miles as well as ride the new 2010 RS Vector LTX GT, and RS Venture GT sleds.

Despite a little rain yesterday the trails were in superb shape!

Congratulations from Mark Savage rolling 40,000 miles on my 2005 RS Venture.

Congratulations from Scott Hanscom

We had "suppa" at the Lake View Restaurant where a cake was waiting.

The sled is ready for its 24th oil change (20 every 2,000 miles plus 4 seasonal oil changes) using Yamalube 4S 0W-30 Semi Synthetic oil. Thumbs Up

Just amazing Bob!
Are you keeping it or turning it over to Yamaha for their museum?

Hondo Im sure you want to start racking up the miles on the 09 so you can start a second proof of reliability test. Me being sledless has decided I ll take one for the team and ride your 09 next year so you can keep adding miles to your 05. ROTFL Just throwing it out... doing my part to help. Thumbs Up

Thanks 06vectorGT,

I really don't know the answer to your question. A very tough decision.

One side of me says; ride it to 50,000.

The sled can certainly go the distance! Thumbs Up

Strangeland2, LOL...

I appreciate your suggestions and concern.

Another option would be to pick one up for the team, and join us next year.

Then we wouldn't have to worry about you being left trail side in the wilds of "The County" left for the Coyotes.

It's not too late...and there will never be a need to carry extra head gaskets.

The 2010 RS Vector LTX GT is going to be a great sled with superb fuel economy.

There are some great deals on left overs too!

This is what I consider a better example of: "Taking one for the Team". Rock On LOL...

Hope this helps! Thumbs Up

HAHA. Unfortunately finances probably wont even allow for riding on borrowed/ rented sleds next season, buying is probably out of the question.

I didnt need to carry head gaskets I needed to carry a welder to patch my chewed up front heat exchanger. Had that been possible the head gasket would still be alive today. lol

Congrats on the 40K milestone... Im hoping you go for the 50k mark next season. Im sure you ve already gotten a head start going for it.

Thanks for the acknowledgement Sno-Xr,

I've heard the comparison before, but it still sounds funny; a sled compared with car or truck mileage... LOL... Thumbs Up

Hello Coyote.!

Thank you my friend Thumbs Up

Mission Accomplished part Deux.

2005 RS Venture now has 64,280 Kilometers or 40,175 miles.

I am now riding the 2009 RS Venture GT. I have almost 3,000 miles of 4,800 Kilometers on it. It will be ready for an oil change in 500 miles.

Trails are still very good.

Hello to Carl, Ken, Claude and all at Lamtrac and Gagne-Lessard Racing!

Cheers! Thumbs Up

Thanks for the acknowledgement Blue 4's Rule,

It has been a good run. The motor is superb shape.

I just might have to ride it right into its second valve train check at 50K.

The competitors don't have anything close in comparison. Yamaha Rule

Hi Hundo
Congrats on reaching the 40,000 m plateau.
I have reached 30,000 km on my 2004 RXWarrior. Had it out last weekend for a 2 day spin. Runs perfectly. Several weeks ago had the drive asle fail. First time in four years and 24,000km that it did not take me home. I would like to see a two stroke meet this reliability. Of course it had to fail up north 70km from Senneterre. Oh well picked it up the following weekend (6hr road trip one way)and I was back on the trail the following Saturday and put on another 700km with no problems.

Hope to see you next year
Carl

Hello Carl,

Good to hear from you and thank you for the acknowledgement.

Sorry you had drive axle problem. I had one break last year.

The motors are bullet proof, which is the "Yamaha Advantage"

I look forward to riding up and visiting you, Richard and all in Quebec next year.

Have a wonderful summer! Thumbs Up
