I'm thinking about relocateing a rear suspension on a 2006 APEX RTX to make it a 144 using a 136 skid. Has someone done this and what are the pro/cons. Thanks

You dont need to relocate the suspension.. YOu just need rail extensions..
You may need to revalve or respring the shock to make it stiffer as the longer rails should create more leverage..

Contact ulmer racing,, I believe he has a conversion kit that has tipped up rails in a 144 version..

i just moved a 144 skid back 3.5 inches and put a 151 in. it will have a better angle.

get rail extensions for 136 and set it back 4 inches. It will be a complete different sled n deep snow. Maxdlx

I did a set back on my 97 700 mm & it made an unreal difference on how it got on top of snow. it changed the approach angle & my sled just popped on top of snow & stayed up. Good luck on the apex tho. I think it was a mountain performance thingee but it was soooo long ago.

Use a little caution when doing this on a 4-stroke. I have a customer who did this on his FX Nytro (136 extensions + 4" set back) and now it is almost undrideable on the trail due to so much extra front end weight.

Did you set the suspension back or just get longer extensions? I woudl be interested in your mount points. What extensions are those?
