My rails cracked for the third time, I had one of my friends beef them up a bit. What do you think? Will they hold?

Have done something similar in the past with success. If they break again, it won't be where you added the support. :) Nice job!

If you are breaking rails, you are abusing them. Mine are perfect at 11,000 miles. If you have a new sled, and run into a tree, it's not the sleds fault.

That looks nice!

That looks great, only thing differently I would have done is sandwich the stock rail with a piece of aluminum on both sides like you did on the one side. That's nice welding if you did it yourself....heliarc pro huh....LOL.

If your not abusing it, your not riding it! Different people ride for different reasons. JMO

Huh? At least with the 136's, it's a design flaw, very common for 'em to crack in that area.

Mine cracked first, and now my wifes are starting.

It seems they crack more often after a re-valve, instead of the shock bottoming and your back taking all the pressure, the shock absorbs it and it all gets channeled through that point.

I was thinking about doing that, but I didn't want to cut anything off the rear arm and having less surface area for the bolt to grab on to. I didn't weld it, a bunch of my friends are iron workers.
