I just got an 05 RX1 totally stock... first mod was to get rid of that ugly windshield. Took out the dremel cut about 6 inches off the top and and 3 off the sides. Followed that with some rustoleum black plastic spray-paint. I assumed that I would mess the screen up and give myself a reason to buy an aftermarket one but I'm very please with the results! The spray-paint looks perfect!

eeh leave them on they good, and in good shape too. Most graphics i dont like, but those look sweet with the blue.

Looks great,a work of art.Thank god for those dremel tools  .

I'm on the fence... I'll probably leave them but was trying to find a pic a blue one without them and couldn't. :4STroke:

If thats an 05 with a stock mono under it, consider spending a little on having the arms beefed up by welterracer and have the shock revalved for your weight and riding style. I think those are about the best two mods you can do to an 05-08 mono equipped sled...

Looks much better, It will be a lot colder though. I kept the tall for those cold days and the short for the nice warm spring days. Short windy used to suck my helmet off!

Very nice job , you have it about the size of the stock Nytro Shield.

05 rx1

things to check exhaust donuts for wear. all front a arm bushings including the bulkhead and rear susp. arms for cracks , orignal idler wheels are crap.

Thanks everyone I figured it can't be any worse than an apex or nytro for wind protection. If I get cold I'll just dress warmer I can't go back to stock!

I checked the a arms they still feel tight it's only got 3000 miles on it. Exhaust will be checked and I plan on pulling the skid. Going to check all the idlers and the arm was just replaced by the previous owner from an apex with a grease fitting. Also I'm going to paint the whole skid black and check the driveshaft bearings. I weight 170 without gear so I think stock springs should be good?
