Are these rivets identical to any of the Yamaha part numbers...?

I believe the small ( 3/8" ) diameter ones are equivalent to part number 90267-47195-00. 3/16" x 5/8" ( 4.7mm x 16.4mm ). For some reason Yamaha calls this a yellow rivet, but when I look at where they are on my Nytro, they are silver??
They have a grip range of .060" to .350" ( 1.5mm to 8.9mm )
We started putting these in with our tunnel extensions last year because we didn't care for the ones that were coming with the extensions from Hartman ( No offense, Mr. Hartman )
I think we had switched to them when you purchased your rail/tunnel extension kit from us last season.
The large head ( 5/8" ) rivets have all of the same dimensions as the smaller ones with the exception of the head diameter of course

Will the cheap inexpensive harbor freight air guns pull the oem or these rivets? Need to replace some rivets (40-50) and was wondering if I could save some money on the gun as well or should I buy better quality gun? Never hurts to invest in quality, but some of the guns are a bit pricey. Thanks

Is this the one you're looking at?

This air riveter from Harbor Freight should work just fine. I did not see that they were advertising the tool's pull force capabilities, but I have used a gun similar to that and it did the job flawlessly.

I've worn out 1 and purchased another. Drilled the nosepiece out on the 1st one to pull 5/16 rivets. Lasted long enough to do my Viper and 1 other sled LOL! I couldn't justify a high buck one for what I needed. Good price on the rivets as well

a pnuematic riveter has more than enough power to pop an aluminum rivet... the steel rivets can are more challenging but even those shouldnt be a problem...
in dealing with harbor freight stuff...it can be less than durable (chinese) but suits the need often...keep your receipt..

You can also get Jet rivet guns in the Sears catalogue for not too much more $$ then even the Harbor Freight cheapies, and they are very good and will last. I can use 90++ psi with my jet and it will pull most all good rivets, as long as they are not too old.
As I understand it, rivets have a shelf life and are considered no good after a while because the internal lubrication inside the rivet disappears. Don't know this for fact, just what I've come to understand!

Absolutely brilliant, as the 47195s are around $2.50 / each over here...scmurs said:I believe the small ( 3/8" ) diameter ones are equivalent to part number 90267-47195-00. 3/16" x 5/8" ( 4.7mm x 16.4mm ).
Honestly, I do not remember the rivets that were included in the extension kit. I ended up using a steel rivet (looking similar to the 47195) from a local hardware store, as I wanted the same rivets for the extension, the floorboard reinforcements as well as some other internal tunnel reinforcements that I installed at the same time.scmurs said:We started putting these in with our tunnel extensions last year because we didn't care for the ones that were coming with the extensions from Hartman ( No offense, Mr. Hartman )

Ouch!! Hit your riding buddies up for a group buy and save on the shipping over the pond. If you need higher quantities, send me a pm and we'll get you set up.

Are steel rivets and aluminium tunnel a good idea?? I've heard that steel "eats" into the aluminium..?

Yamaha rivets are steel.
What causes the "wear" is rivets that are pulled in holes that are too big, or not pulled tight enough.
