Season 2010 - 2011 TY mileage IKE

Well, snow is falling and my sled is not ready. Still needs few new bearings in to the skid etc. Those OFT steering parts are installed though.
;)!

IÂ´ve been really busy with our house what we bought last winter. I build a new sauna + bath in summer, and been doing everything else since then... Too much stuff to do.

Anyway, I took pics today when I went to get a car unstuck in one of our worksites. Fresh snow covers pretty much everything, so things happen.

WOW you have a bit more snow than us.

I'm in the same boat as you, working on the house repainting our livingroom. I have to install speedo side bearing, skid, chaincase and my new 50mm TiAL Q dump valve.

First fix of the season. Feels good! I took the old V4 out of hibernation. Man, it sounds great!

Cant wait until sunday. I am going to ike s place to test run ported xtc 600 twin.
We dont have any snow and ike lives only 130 kms north from here.

Tomorow I am doing skid swap to my friends warrior. Mono will have to go and Lynx PPS 144" will replace it. No more worrier by skid by bumps.

I try to remember take pics for U ;)!

Sorry to hear SamueLJackson, there have been some riding around town up here the last few days. One of my neighbours took his Phazer FX out for a spin yesterday.

I got an MMS message from my brother. Looks like the skid swap has been done. MONO is replaced by 144 long Lynx PPS skid.

They fabricated new brackets for the rear. Skid has two 46mm KYB shocks in it. Should do much better in moguls than the stock MONO. They said that ride feels softer than the MONO, but on even 2 up they werent able to make it bottom.

No kmÂ´s today for sleds. I spent my day getting firewood to my house from out cottage. + c temps with freash snow made the roads really awful to drive. Weather at our cottage was like in march, sunny and warm. I have enjoy this now since the arctic night is getting closer. Soon there will be no daylight at all for us.

Since the heavy wet snow came, raindeer have come to the roads. They are looking for an easier way to move around.

The wide offroadtires are no the best for winter use. Norrow, tall studded tires would be perfect. Narrow tires slice trough snow and they have much more grip.

Me and Ike tested my wifes ported xtc 600 twin. Sled over rev a bit so we have to put more weights primary. Place is only 300meter from ikes house, Ike took this video. We rode only few kms and went back to garage rebuild primary...

Weather here has turned to the "normal winter" weather. - 28 c here now. We need more snow to make sledding possible. I donÂ´t want to go out riding and bent my A-arms etc...

Cold temps are good for forestry though. We are making ice roads in record time as well as winter roads over peatlands too. And my 3 km (2 mile ) walk to the office is nice change when full moon is shining with the northern lights.

We are having it the same way, not much snow yet but rivers and lakes are freezing over fast these days. We have -16C and wind blowing down the valley, makes up for -30C windchill. At least as you said the frost goes fast down into the ground with the sparse snow cover we have.

We had a nice snowfall yesterday. Soon all the trails will be rideable. Too bad that IÂ´m way to busy to go riding. My work description changed so I decided to put my Warrior on sale. I just do not have the time. I rather spent my freetime with family than go riding alone. If the sled wont sell, Â´ll keep it and ride it when I can.

Anyway, I changed the broken aluminium parts with aftermarket stainless steel parts to my mono skid. i hope it will now hold up better without braking.

Man..... I can feel your pain, I've been way to busy at work this winter as well to even finish off my sleds and make them ready to ride. Maybe I'll get one of them done by next weekend, I hope....

Christmas is in the past now. We spent it at my parents place. Really cold (- 28c temps) and icy. No rideable snow yet. Just like at my place at SodankylÃ¤. We have only 30 cm of snow (1ft). That is not enough for good riding.

Last year this time we had record snowfalls and great trails, this year it is the exact opposite.

Anyway some pics.

I rode to a local gas station to fuel up my Warrior, since tomorrow IÂ´m going out in the field at work and I need a sled there. I did a whopping 18 kmÂ´s today.

We have it the same, not a lot more snow than a feet here as well. A little milder temps tho

I have got about the same mileage as you have.
