I have 07 venture light 4 stroke
Recently teenagers were riding and reported flashing of dash lights then machine died. It restarted and they rode home
Next day I turn key
It does not crank, code 81 shows on dash "hand warmers or short in that circut"
Batt and connections seem good
I'm at a loss
Machine is very low miles
Thanks for any help

Is it the first time the sled was out? Maybe some mice got in there?
What do you mean teenagers? like your kids or do you rent the sleds? just wondering

Sled was out 4 or five times this year
Generally 2 to 3 mile trips
It's about 15'f out
I can crank easily with lots of pep by jumping starter relay
fuel pump is silent

Does it start when you jump the solenoid? If yes.Unplug the small wires at starter solenoid(relay) use a test light to them to determine if power is being routed to the solenoid each time the key is turned. If it is solenoid is bad if not check switches and the relay down behind the ECU.I suspect the relay behind the ECU.Is three of them all the same.Bring them in house to thaw out. Also look up ground wire update.

cranks well when jumped
no sign at all of firing
no sign at all of firing
Check the relay behind ecu. Also check the fuse right on solenoid.

all fuses checked with bright light
It looks like about 8 small relays behind ecu
seem to be held on with rubber bands
I'll bring them all in tonight and talk nice to them
will check fuses with ohm meter

I've search alot through the forum
others report a problem just like mine
"no start, code 81 displayed, no fuel pump noise"
code 81 refers to hand warmers or that circut
They report that fix was shorted grounding block inside
wiring harness with 5 to 7 wires to it
I can't find grounding block and am hesitant to cut
into harness wrapping where they say iit is.
My summer sled is 1947 stinson airplane no codes or mystery this is rocket surgery

I have had that happened to me. If this is what's happening to you when you are on the trail and your stuck you can move the wires around and try starting it (If you do take it out again make sure you take a allen rench). It takes a while but it will start. You can do this on till you can get some time to take it to you local dealer. When you do take it to the dealer and this is your problem. IT IS A HIDDEN RECALL THEY HAVE TO FIX IT! THEY SAY IT IS A HIDDEN RECALL BECAUSE IT'S ONLY HAPPENDS TO SOME PHAZER'S. Let me ask you this. Is your speedo throwing out a code with the high beam light on? Also when you try to start it dose it click?
That yellow plug that you see in this pic starts to melt and it melts on till you can start it any more.

prozac500 is on it
I have yellow connector near fan
when you turn key dash lights up, code 81 appears, very light clicking
that seems to come from reverse alarm on rear of batt tray
and blue hibeam indicator on dash is lit but headlight is off
Is my problem yellow plug itself or in massive wire bundle yellow plug is attached to?
will not be leaving garage till sure off fix.

From what i have read on the link i posted if the yellow plug shows signs of overheating (melting and i guess burning) you need to take it to the dealer and they should fix it up for you.

I am pretty sure it's the yellow plug it's self. Not positive. Dose it look like the plug is malting yet.
It should be a free fix. Some people said they had to pay for it from different dealerships. It doesn't take long to fix. It should take about 10 min if the have in stock.
