EC Ohlins shock issue

i installed a electric shock on my sled but my display flips to error code er2 no power to dampner - should there be constant power from controler to shock ? or only when adjusting shock ? How can i check shock to be sure issue is not the shock ? can i multi meter terminals on shock ? when i do this i get nothing . :o|
 
ohlins issue

found issue - shocks is to have 5 ohms whene metered - just bought a bad shock i guess - have to replace solinoid on shock
