Checking my toe-out the other night I noticed a bit of play in the handle bars, probably about a 1/4 inch + turning left to right before any movement is noted in the ski's, is this normal or are things starting to loosen up on this sled a little? (4,250km's=2,600 miles)

I plan to do the Ulmers front end Bushing kit this off season and I remember reading about an aftermarket company that makes steering bushings as well but I can't find them?

I have also read on here of peeps tightening and greaseing certain steering components but of course I never saved them or know where to look now either?

Any help, tips, links etc woud be appreciated.
Thanks ;)!

I changed them at 3000 miles I had about 1 1/2" paly in them. The company your looking for is OFT but I think they are still off line yet.

Thanks guy's, going to look into getting some soon, but $122 for 3 plus almost another $40 to ship?

Appreciate the info and link ;)!

While this post is still fairly fresh, I am wondering if there is any DIY's instructions/links for changing out these steering bushings?

Looking to do it in the off season, or sooner if it isn't too big of a task?

Thanks ;)!

I was going to put the ones I have in this weekend b ut they are calling for 15" of snow to night. :)

Same here, sure hope their right :dunno:

I have your DIY for the bushing replacement saved, was just hoping something similar for the steering post bushings exists?

Season is done for me and given the need to take so much apart to do certain jobs I am planning to do many at once.
Ulmer bushings
OFT steering blocks
Donuts
Mono beef up and powder coat
Speedo relocation
Rox riser
Season end oil change
Windage plates if I can find where I put the parts
May need to replace a tweaked A-Arm

Thinking my season may be done as well, we got a couple cm's last night but they are calling for plus temps again later in the week and most of our trails took a hard hit.

I have a bunch of stuff I want to do in the off season as well but I am really beginning to wonder why I go to such lengths for such a short season? Not quite a 1000 km's this year but it was/is better than last years even worse season :o|

Your fine at 1/4" that is pretty good actually. I had over 1" and used the OFT steering blocks and it took all but 1/8" out of it! Real impressed with them.

Good to know Kinger, I am going to go ahead and do it anyways in the off season as I want everything tight and fresh as possible and I plan on doing the front end bushings so I may as well get these OFT bushings while I am at it.

Currently trying to adjust my toe-out but having a bugger of a time getting at the inside right(seated) tie-rod end, I managed to get the rod loose but the jam nut is just that, it seems jammed or very tight?

The only thing I can think of is I need a 14mm off-set wrench, can't get anything else in there and they don't want to turn easy even with no pressure up against them.
Any ideas/thoughts how to loosen it off? I only need about 3 thread turns and that should provide me enough?
