you can machine your clutch all you want but gearing has to be factored in no sense in doing this unless you are geared low enough to get into overdrive ,apexs are geared tall gear your sled for the speed you want on the trail at 1 to 1 then in perfect conditions your over drive will come in to...
Is it starting abit hard when cold also mine was doing the hard start when cold and stalling when hot it was pick up coil r and n statar has them for 38 dollars installed it on mine fixed both problems
Fact is if you are off trail they will have better traction but on a hard groomed trail they won't lugs bend to easy I put a ripsaw 1.5 oncut it down abit and it works perfect for me on trail hooks up better than a corbra but its what you plan to do that matters
There is a lot to gain with clutching I use a team tied secondary 73/57 helix 155/212 rear spring front I have 8ay-10 weights weighted to 60 grams 35\141front spring
I wouldent use a corbra read were Yamaha tested them on a nitro lost 8to10 mph on top also they don't last as long due too lugs being softer mybud put one on and in 3000 miles lugs were coming off also he lost top end he installed a ripsaw back on speed back
Installed a new pick up coil in my 07 apex gt which I got from RM stater in QC 3 days delivery easy to install and fixed issue the best thing it was only 40 dollars very impressed with there service just a little soldiering and drilled holes to get set to specs two hour job
Remember when gearing down you give the sled less rolling resistance if you have studded good and match clutching it will accelerate guicker and still have decent top end 24\38 works out to ,116 mph at 1to 1 23 \38 works out to 112 mph at 1to 1 at besdt Yamaha clutching might have ,2 percent...
Spent a day clutching my apex most fun ive had sledding in a long time i love the apex once set up and shock done and snow trackers they are so fun to drive you get a strong sled with top end that not many can equal
When doing fomula for gearing do it at 1to1 as Yamaha overdrive at best is 2 percent 24\38 is 115 mph at one to one 23\38 is 109 at one to one just the more you gear down the better tra tion you need or you will spin three gears a lot of times gearing down when clutched to matched the little...
