My 09 xtx has served me well.
Never once did it leave me stranded on a trail.
Will miss all the fun I had wrenching on it.
But most of all the motor.
All the extras I have for Nytro will be up for sale here on TY soon.

Fuel filter?
Did a search and no-one seems to mention, so I figure the nytro doesn't have one.
Sled is thirsty and many tanks of fuel over the years from stations all over.
Is all of it (dirt moisture etc.) getting forced right through the injectors?
Just ran a few lengths of the field, testing new clutch setup.
New belt Ultimax.
Engages solid at 3300-3400 pulls like a mfo on hard pack.
At wto hovering at 8600 building speed and I feel will move higher with more room. Can't reach top speed, too short area.
Stopped to check over belt and...
Looking at Dalton Pro Yxx helix multi angle.
I'm assuming tips are shorter (already cut down) for overdrive. Yes?
But how much? Hoping the inner collar doesn't need be cut down too.
I just want to be able to throw it in change the buttons and go.
Anyone know?
Finally got the old XTX in the shop for some wrenching.
Just changed the upper ball joints and did the Longer Bolt, 2 nuts update.
The stock bolts came loose last year, vibratred and slotted the top hole in the soft spindle. I didn't like that too much, so I got a new spindle. Here is a pic...

Guess I'll just pay the fine and keep riding.
Just put on the 2011 update, moved the wheels forward, moved the spring holders.
Good thing I did... Can you find the spot where a rock was jammed?

XTX strap fix and shock rub issue.
Yes my track is studded down the center (dealer did it when new) and I don't yet feel like getting a new track and re-stud.
Couple guys asked me what I was doing.
I had the skid frame out for a couple days.
So I took a few photos to show my set up.

I've heard different thoughts on the torque proceedure after you have the primary clutch off.
Put back on.
Go up to 88 ftlbs, run for some miles then re-torque.
Or...
Like what is on Hartman's site.
Go up to 88 ftlbs, then back bolt off, then re-torque to 44 ftlbs.
What do you guys think?
Just got my XTX dyno tuned by Hurricane Performance.
Hindle Full Stealth system, PCV mapping, Hurricane Air Box Mods.
Awesome day!!
Peak numbers.
Stock 129.3hp @ 8600rpm
After Mods 147.9hp @ 9200rpm
18.6hp gain and nice torque everywhere.

OEM 2009 ball joints.
Thought you guys might like to see the inside of the race after it is cut off the ball.
There is a band of some kind of wear or lubricating teflon or mesh material inside.
Not like the 08, but similar.
