Looking to get from Marquette to Au train. The maps all show trail 321 ending east of Marquette near Harvey. Then there is a considerable gap before trail 417 picks up around Onola. Is there a way thru there that doesn't involve a lot of road riding?
This weekend I rode 400 miles in the U.P. Mostly good trail. On Saturday I rode 200 miles on the snowmobile and 50 miles on the Harley. 2133 miles total on the sled for the year. Next two weeks are in the Bahamas. So I'm done.
I notice that Woody's prices their duallys individually. You need to buy 2. The single runners are packaged as a pair. Is somebody actually running one dually on their sled?
Hey Michiganders...I 'm taking the family skiing at Boyne Highlands next week. I'd like to drag the sleds along and squeeze in a ride. Is there a parking area anywhere in that area?
I now have dozens of starts under various conditions on my latest starter. I have the Evo reflash and a heavier battery cable. The starter seems to spin faster and it just sounds like it's not working as hard as it used to. The engine fires quicker. I haven't had a single kickback. Note: It now...
We got about 5 inches of ice pellets last night. This morning it had turnEd into a nice packy base. I got 10 miles on the Viper and 25 miles on the new 800 Rush.
Yesterday I couldn't stand it anymore. I pulled on my snowmobile suit, threw a leg over the old 4 stroke and put on 80 miles! The ole Electra Glide ran great!
I was just at my dealer (Babbitt's) and I asked about a reflash for the starter kickback issue. He said he hadn't heard anything about it. Has anybody heard anything about this? It's only 8 weeks until the trails open in Michigan!
I took the Tuner skis off my Nytro when I sold it and planned to put them on my wife's Viper. But the rubber bumpers are too think. I tried the bumpers from the Nytro, the ones from my Curves and the stock bumpers from the Viper. They are all too thick. I can't get the bolt thru the skis. Is...
I was at Nelson's Sno-Motion on Friday and picked up a spare belt for my 2016 Rush 800. OMG! $164.00! Apparently it's made of unobtainium. I wonder if Ulmer can convert it to run a 8DN.
After I posted on this site about my starter issue and getting stuck out on the trail, someone on that thread mentioned the Travel and Recreation Interruption Plan that we get with the Yamaha Extended Warranty. It's for real! I'm holding a $220 check for expenses incurred as a result of the...
This weekend I suddenly could hear my track rubbing on the tunnel and a lot of banging coming from the skid. Turns out I lost one of rear bolts that bolt the skid to the tunnel. FYI if this happens you can remove the coupler block bar and use one of those bolts.
Last week I posted that my starter quit on me. I got it back from the dealer Friday and I saw the starter. The magnet was shattered into a dozen pieces. No missing teeth on the starter or the ring gear. They had no speculation about how the magnet got shattered. I've never seen it before.
After seeing quite a few posts about starter issues I had a feeling it was just a matter of time before the starter gremlin came to visit me. I got stranded about 150 miles out from the truck. Fortunately I was able to find a local who would take $100 to drive me to my truck. The starter worked...
Doing a saddlebag trip in the U.P. this weekend. The forecast temperature Friday morning is -13°F. The forecast for Sunday morning is -17°F. I'm pretty sure the sleds will start. It's my P.O.S. truck I'm worried about.
