Yup. I had mine stretched to a 136. Tunnel closed in, slydog skis, bigger riser, roll over valve. I went everywhere the big dogs went except I was always pinned. Amazing the beating it took. I find the pro cross chassis to rise very similar to it. Much more so than the rev I had, even though the...

Guys c'mon just trying to have some fun. Read what I said above. Even when I said the mighty Phazer spend 4 years running with the big boys and survived you turned my words around. I guess I see now that I can't win no matter what I say. I apologize for the butthurt, enjoy your Cats. Now, I...

Guys, please let's keep this lightheaded ok? I never said the Suzuki twin is faster than a turbo and I never said it is more reliable than a na triple. I posed the question is a turbo'd triple more reliable than a na Zuk 800 and that a heavier, more powerful turbo'd viper would have a hard time...

Oh you guys are too easy. I came from a Yamaha 4 stroke that I rode for 4 years. Don't forget you guys are just riding Arctic Cats with a different Japanese engine than mine. But on a serious note: The viper is 100 lbs heavier than my sled. That's a lot to wrestle with. My local conditions is...

Suzuki makes an excellent engine. Those 800s are good for 10,000 easy. My brother's 2003 F7 had 20,000 before he lost a piston last year. Granted a turbo 4 stroke is fast down the lake or straight up but that's a lot of extra cash to spend to make a heavy sled do what a light one can (in a...

Guys not trying to stir the pot here but the Suzuki 800 will blow the doors off Yamaha's triple. 165 HP and a hell of a lot lighter, no rotating mass at the top of the engine, no electric start, engine reverse. Is it as reliable? Maybe so. They last a long time. I'm not defending AC but that...

    Review of Rustoleum NeverWet

Don't waste your money. It works well enough to repel water unfortunately it leaves a textured surface which holds ice very well. On a ride last night my sled had slightly less ice than my buddy's (same model) but his ice was easy to remove and mine was held fast by said textured surface. Not...

    Oil Lines Under The Muffler

A guy on HCS had his new turbo burn to the ground from an oil line snafu. I found my injection line behind the muffler almost worn through. Yikes!

    I hope I didn't make a mistake!!!!!

Dealer told me Cat pays nothing for PDI so they just put on the skis and bars and let 'em rip. You might get a good one, you might get a bad one. Lets hope that the 14's are that much better. They are so great to ride that its worth putting up with the bullsh!t. At least they don't need to be...

    I hope I didn't make a mistake!!!!!

Coming from a Yamaha to a Cat last year I was absolutely shocked at how terribly my sled was assembled - and I use that word loosely. I won't get into all the items that were not finished but a loose hose clam caused an engine failure at 400 miles. This year as I decided to completely go through...

I use Volcom snowboard gear. Very functional, movement is excellent, articulated knees, gusset in crotch, avalanche beacon in Jacket. Durable too. Never liked snowmobile clothing.

The things I don't like about my Viper

Re: fit and finish The side panels are very easy to install. The torx fasteners do not rust. I've ridden this chassis for over a year and have never experienced what you are describing here.

    Seat screw option

Why do you guys need to take your seat off? I rode mine 50 something days last year (800 with electric start) and never removed it once. I did take it off this year to remove the battery. Can you believe the starter and battery weighs almost 35 lbs on this sled?! Pull cord for me for now on!

AC quality not even close to Yamaha standards

How much would it cost to make a Nytro (or Apex) as nimble and as light as a Viper? How much would it cost to replace some fasteners on the Viper that are of Yamaha quality? If AC sold Yamaha the tooling to make the chassis and it was all assembled in Japan with Japanese QC and materials how...
