So I plan on buying a older Phazer in the US and bring it to Canada. Because the sled is more than 15 years old it is exempt from the RIV program. Canada customs told me that I would need a bill of sale and registration to bring it back into Canada. The issue I'm having is on the US side...
If you have never rode in the mountains this is one of those things you must do before you depart this world. It was an epic day of riding. Some pics for the day. Elevation was around 8,000'. I did get a little to confident and rolled the sled on a high mark. I was luck that the handlebars...
I also posted this info in the Phazer general talk as well but thought it might work better here.
So I have an opportunity to take my Phazer out to the mountains for some riding but have some concerns. First the snowmobile is FX non turbo but stretched to 144 and running a 2" paddle and has...
So I have an opportunity to take my Phazer out to the mountains for some riding but have some concerns. First the snowmobile is FX non turbo but stretched to 144 and running a 2" paddle and has the Yamaha tuner skis. A friend of mine who has rode a number of times in the mountains says the 144...
Anyone have a solution for a replacement of the side cover screws on the right side? I have lost another one and there about $8 each from Yamaha. The plastic washer falls off and if the screw loosens it's lost.
So the sled is a 07 FX and when I bought the sled the grip heaters were terrible. I installed the updated harness from Yamaha and this seemed to help somewhat and were "adequate". When I stretched out my skid to 144 I also bought the handlebars from the mountain as well. After I installed the...
So everyone has their way to pull the skid but I think this is the easiest way to do it. You don't have to remove any rear wheels. You don't have to ratchet down the skid to get it in or out and you don't even have to loosen of the track.
First thing is to flip the sled on it's right side. I...
So the way I understand it if you have a straight cut 43 helix and you want to up shift your sled quicker you would go to a 45 or whatever. Now if you had a bog on take off you would be over shifting and need a 41 helix to stop it from up shift to quick and getting ahead of the power curve...
Anyone know where to find the 45/41 helix. I'm running the new secondary (reverse) that now has a straight 43. I get a slight bog at take off then wound the secondary spring tighter which helped. I think a 41 start should work great.
Can someone give me the spec on how much material to remove from the upper ball joint. A buddy of mine who has a lathe is going to cut them after work today. Thanks.
Anyone know a cure for this. I posted this last year and lots have the same issue. I'm talking about a hesitation if you stop the sled and full throttle it. There's a bog then she goes. No other issues.
We just got a bast from a Colorado low which dumped around 30cm of snow. I should be riding until the middle of April. There still a good three and a half feet of snow on the ground. First time I've been able to ride in April.
Honda trying to clean the drive.
The ride home from...
So I just converted my FX to a 144 using a MTX skid and the OEM 2" paddle track. I'm using my 9 tooth drives and just put it in tonight. Man is this thing tight. I have the adjusters loosened off completely and it's still tighter then I normally adjust. The track only has 700 miles on it...
Does the hoop help protect the instrument pod from damage on a roll over? I've been riding the Phazer for a couple of months now and it's been upside down about 4 times. Last time I broke the windshield. Any good aftermarket ones? I was going to buy a Yamaha OE but pricey!
Why would Yamaha put a 8 tooth on the MTX and 9t on other Phazers. If my thinking is right a larger drive would be a gear reduction, something you would want for more grunt down low. Why not just run the 9t in the MTX then make a gear change in the chaincase. Wouldn't 9t give you a better...
I going to install a 144" skid from a MTX in my FX. Will the track fit running the 9 tooth drives or would it be too tight? Is there enough room between the 9 tooth drives and the rail tips? The 8 tooth drives are available, is there an advantage to running it over the 9 tooth?
Thanks
Well after a long ride and a 2 mile lake run on the way home the muffler was considerably louder. I took the DB killers out to have a look see and everything looks normal so I'm assuming some of the packing has shifted. I went back with the stock muffler, shows you that Yamaha stock is...
