I tried doing this and it worked for about 3-4 starts and started slipping again...if you have lots of time it may be worth trying but to me it's not worth doing things twice. Get the crankcase gasket when you order the new sprag clutch just in case it rips (mine did) when removing the cover...
I would have to double check the wiring diagram for this application however in most 2-wire systems you need supply voltage to the coil, aswell as a ground trigger of some sort to tell the coil to fire. You could test for voltage at the plug end and go from there.
Follow wires down chassis looking for any frays, rubbing or shorts. Also check that the red rubber gaskets in the clip that connects to the coil are not preventing a solid connection to the coil.
I purchased my sled (03 rx1) with heelclicker 2 speeds and the black primary spring. I wasn't given any of the adjustable weights when I took ownership of the sled.
I recently found a good deal on a set of drag n fly weights in my area with both the white and black spring and all adjusting...
Like the title suggests, I have no idea what brand these are or if they are part of a kit. My helix is stock but these weights and spring look anything but stock. The spring has no colours on it anywhere just black. This sled came with a modified airbox, 165 mains, and it never seemed to pull...
since all the snow is gone, I'm thinking I should do an oil change before summer storage. Do most guys on here do the same or just leave the old oil in until the next season?
I like to leave my jets in carb cleaner for at least 24 hours before I blow them out, sled idles and rolls through pilot circuitry very happily. Sea foam isn't ever the answer.
raise idle is the easiest way to remove the rattle without changing anything clutch wise. aides in warming up the sled faster on the cold winter days. That was one of the first things I did to my rx-1 since I got it.
I'm going to make new mounts for the post myself and its just a trail sled (no major pulling on the post), I just want something that moves me forward on the sled, will check out the seat though. Mostly just going to do everything as cheap as possible. I got this sled for free when it wouldn't...
Sounds good Guys. I read some of the Katchess thread when I first got the sled. Now that I got the motor running the mods can begin! should be fun making it my own!
Has anyone ever done a Post Forward mod on an rx? I figure I can rig something up with the stock mounts by flipping them around on the loop of over the gas tank. It also looked like there will be some play for me to increase the angle of the steering post. Im thinking I can stick the post...
You' want to go higher then 2 inches if you get the apex seat, i'm not sure of the prices on the rx1 mountain cables however powermadd makes a nice throttle extension that would work. go browse on firstplaceparts.com they have a lot of stuff that will get the wheels turning on what you can do...
test compression and drain floats to see is gas comes out a partially clogged fuel inlet may have only been noticed when the carb was starved for fuel. depending on how your fiancé rides, she may have never been on the throttle long enough to use more fuel then the pump could supply (assuming...
