I had an 06 RTX and had yamaheater (thanks Rock) and just purchased a 2010 Apex LTX. My ? is will I need to purchase a yamaheater for this one also or did they get the grips better? would appreciate any feedback,thanks!

You will get different opinions about this, and everyone's can be different, I never use my heated grips. Good gloves and guards work for me.

I also have an '06 Apex and an '09 Vector. The Vector definitely has better handlebar heating. I also second the handguards, though. Have a mid height windshield and guards on both sleds.

Apex less then 2012, yes.. they still suck below 10 degrees F if running the rail grades.
