I am looking for ideas to modify the exhaust on my Phazer MTX. I know that Hartmann and Excel make replacement units, but I am curious if I can find a slip-on style muffler that will work.

My questions primarily surround back-pressure. With the Phazer at 500cc is it critical to stick with a muffler designed for something in that range, say 450 - 600cc or does it really matter?

i dont think it really matters. i ran one without packing for about 400 miles. i prob had in the time of 2 exhausts i put about 2000 on the sled.

sounded great, but too loud and wardens are being a PIA around here.

do a search, there is at least 10 members on here that have done it. i dont think a lot of them are holding together right tho.

I was reading on here once that someone had slipped a cherry bomb on their rig.... don't know anything about the genisis and backpressure but it'd be a cheap $40 alternative to buying an expensive silencer for hundreds of dollars that is of course if it actually did work.

You know I was looking at some of those cans all the little cars are running.I think I am going to try one.Go to All Car or Autozone. They have a real good selection and some are even stainless.Under $100 easy.

mad cat, i cant believe that holds up. my yoshi and my mig didnt hold up and i spent top $$ on a stainless yoshi.

i thought the mig broke just because i did a crappy job or something. the yoshi i spent hour on making sure it wasnt getting any stress on it. that lastes maybe 600 miles?

i gave up on it lol

ive got 1831 problem free miles on my yoshi rs3 carbon fiber i put in the T.E.C quiet core in and it made it way quieter still louder then stock tho i still dont know if it will pass the new sound law in michigan but i will find out next winter

i have a tuner muffler that i built for mine , wanna buy it cheap, its all stainless, and built well but its also loud as hell, i believe it eats away the internal packing and gets louder.
