I'm doing my rx1 chaincase bearings and I have read that on the bottom drive bearing some recommend leaving the seal in the bearing toward the oil to keep the filings out but to cut a little slit in the seal to let oil in. Do you leave the grease in the bearing also???? That's my question. Any help would be appreciated.

leave the grease in and leave the side with the seal to the chain. it will keep the debris out. you do not need to put a weep hole in the seal as the seals on the bearing are designed to hold in grease and will let the chain case oil weep in over time as it is thinner.

If it is a bearing with a seal on both sides can I leave them both on???
