I was working on removing the drive shaft from a 2004 viper and was frustrated by the cogs getting caught up on the track. I found that a 15-in piece of aluminum ductwork rolled nicely up between the cogs and the track allowing it to slide back and forth with perfect ease. Be sure and put duct tape on those sharp edges though to prevent any cut fingers!
