here are some pics of the lower profile on the ground
you can see why these skis narrow up the front end in a corner on hard pack. at a full turn, they lift the outside carbide 2in off the ground, GEE, I wonder why the outside carbide doesnt ever wear out.
The Arrow does this a little but because the keels are so close the effect is almost un noticable.

The simmons steers harder at slow speeds because when you turn the sled, you are lifting the sled a little over an inch. You are lifting the sled up on the inside carbide. The deaper the snow, the less the effect.
Simmons with there keels on the outside do trap and pack snow better, this makes them better for flotation than the Arrow skis.
The Arrow skis do not have the lifting problem that the Simmons have so low speed turning is easy.
Simmons come with exposed carbides which I hate. The are unsafe so on mine I converted them to skidoo carbides that are tucked in the front. This mod takes about 1hr with a good dremel and you will need to drill new holes.
The Arrows use the skidoo carbides as well.

Here is a picture of the Arrows on a sled. Sorry for the uglyness of this sled, I put it out of its missery this fall, it is now a pile of left over parts that havent sold.

Those ARROW skis are shaped like a banana!!
If can spare some money this winter i think i will buy a set with 6" shaper bars

they look bent from the side but they do have a very flat top on them. the keel shape makes them look bannaannanananish from the side.

Yes i was talking of the keel shape, for the same banana reason those skis must be really easy to steer.

Do the Simmons turn easy at speed? How do they perform in the turns? Nice pics BTW, great info!

Thanks Big dog05! I had not seen that yet. Interesting
simmons work better the faster you go, the slower you go is when they start steering harder.
Before i modified them to use the skidoo carbides they turned even harder. I installed the skidoo carbides centered under the spindle. stock they come with the carbide trailing the spindle which adds straight line stability (they dont need any extra) but also adds to steering effort. This modification makes the ski safer and steer easier.
the Arrows turn easy at slow speeds.
Weight
Arrow 7lbs 11.8oz
simmons 8lbs 9.5 oz
curves 8lbs 12 oz
percision 8lbs

Do the Arrows float the same(off trail) or better than the OEM Yamaha's???
flotation is about the same, ill do some swaps back an forth between stock and arrows this winter, also have some powderhounds to test onthe way.
i was trying them last year against the simmons so just the extra width alone the simmons would win the float test.
i think the simmons give a more agressive turn but seems to give you some work, hang on to the bars hard. the slower you were going the worse this got.
