I got my viper ltx se this past week and my buddy picked up his xf7000 yesterday so we were able to get a few miles in on both of them. Didn't do any real head to head racing as they are still just getting broke in but I was able to drive the xf for a few trips down the field and got a feel for that. The xf to me felt like it had just a touch more power than the viper as far as acceleration. I think it mainly felt this way just because of the fact that it had more weight transfer than the viper. We did however do a few 200-300 feet runs and the viper would pulled a 1/2 a sled length on the xf every time didn't matter if I was the one to take off first or if my buddy did. So good news for the viper guys:) both sleds are totally stock right out of the box. Only difference is the xf had 1/4 tank of gas. Viper was full. Time will tell once then engines get broke in and are reaching full rpm. Both sleds were still only running up to 8300-8400. Any input from anyone else on their head to head info would be great. Will post more news as it comes.

Does anyone else also see a picture of a beach along with the pic of the Viper and 7000? LOL

I would assume these two will run very close to each other. The cool thing is that it does really let you compare clutching and possibly suspension set-up.

With that said, that is a nice looking pair of sleds!

To be totally honest I have no idea where the beach picture came from. that picture is nowhere to be found in my photo gallery so your guess is as good as mine lol. Just that fact that the yamaha has their own clutches and cat uses their cheap setup is a plus for yamaha. On the other hand, the xf came standard with the heated seat. My upgraded package sled did not vs the base model viper that does. Strike against yamaha on that one. It obviously wasn't a deal breaker for me but for the 5 minutes I was on the xf today it sure felt nice to be sitting on a warm seat.

Thats crazy when you click on it the sled pic comes up - anyone surfing porn?

This is like sled porn :sled1:

That may be Mrsled's location after all the new memberships maybe he chose a beach rather than site upgrades :jump:

You can't tell from the pics but up close you can see that the front hood piece is different on the 2 sleds. Cat didn't change their style at all. Yamaha added some very nice detail in this area as well as some extra detail on the upper portion of the plastics on the sides.

You can see the vents above the clutch area, the headlight, windshield and the basic shape of the hood are different. It's basically a GMC versus a Chevy pickup.

That beach pic is mine posted in a helmet cam thread. Cherry grove beach SC. Weird.

Pretty cool to be able to get the same sled in so many different options. Looking forward to the verdict on the viper towards the end of season. Very Interested in getting one myself.

Weird. I agree the snow this year is going to have some really Hot looking sleds on it this year and those two in my opinion are the best looking sleds to ever hit the snow! Thanks for the pics and report Studroes144.
