Yes it has "detents' that assure it locks into position. I ran it for one season before I removed to replace tri Hub with oversize wheel (and it no longer had clearance. Cant remember the price but I'll sell you mine for 50% off retail if you want to give it a shot.

Thick part to front or rear? I installed mine with Thick towards front of ski. With front lifted the skis seem to be flat. I had to grind down my bushings about 1/16 each side to get the spindle installed
I heard from one reputable builder that has seen the 2016 motor with ~1000 miles have rod failure. I also wanted to be able to turn up the power but that also would void the warranty anyway.
Anyone hear any news regarding Yamaha proactively recalling the 2016 Vipers to replace rods? I managed 600 miles with the 180 kit last year, but felt every ride out might be my last. I have so much money tied up in the sled now I may just bite the bullet and have stronger rods put in now...
I used 1.63 Triggers in my 2016 LTX Turbo. No issues with the length.

These are Triggers are more of a "lake racer" stud not a traditional trail stud, but they hold up decent.
