My Venture mp thoughts after 300 miles

Very happy with mine so far... tunnel icing happens, but it’s not a big deal for me...takes a minute to knock it out when it does build up. The Simmons gen 2 skis make a huge difference in deep snow. After hearing stories from people in my area about how their ski doo 900 ace would quit for no...

    Difficult starting in extreme cold

Unalakleet, Alaska....had not started my 2016 Venture MP for a week, and it’s been 10-25 below. Started it the other morning with no problem at -25f. Haven’t had to use the coolant heater yet. So far, I’m happy I went with the mp rather than the Doo Expedition 900 ace...I personally know a few...

    Slydog skis and darting

I installed Simmons gen III's with woody's 6" carbides...kinda hard steering at very slow speeds, but i am the king of the trail and make my own tracks at higher speeds. Love em on my venture mp

2016 Phazer RTX 60mph top speed

my 2016 Venture MP(same motor as yours) will even hit 80+mph on a good day. I'm probably a bit heavier than you and have a longer track. Everything stock...even the crappy tuner skis it came with.

New sled shopping - need some advice/opinions

For what it's worth...I ride the Venture MP. She gets to around 80-82mph on a good day, lots of torque down low, great on gas, soaks up bumps, hauls anything...including other sleds. The tuner skis are crap, but the rest of the sled is cushy when it needs to be, and a hauler when needed. There...

Congratulations! Princesses are the best! My daughter has been yelling at me since she was 3 or 4 to "go faster daddy!!" on our snowmobile.

Busy Summer..ready for Snow!! How was your summer?

Ok, I lied...I haven't personally heard of a Yamaha being towed home(other than the Iron Dog race...i don't think it was engine related):4STroke: :yam:

Busy Summer..ready for Snow!! How was your summer?

Thanks guys, It's a dream of mine to learn to become proficient at shooting the compound bow, and taking a whitetail deer someday with one. Also want to do an elk hunt some day. I actually grew up a city kid in the beautiful city of Anchorage...I left Unalakleet when i was 12. Moved back 'home'...

Busy Summer..ready for Snow!! How was your summer?

In western Alaska, got my land ready for a new house this summer, put away salmon for the winter, milled more lumber, caught a moose for more protein, caught a small brown bear, and counted the days until winter arrives...getting colder by the day. The wife gathered 10-15 gallons of blueberries...

    Venture towing capacities

Just got back from the beautiful city of Anchorage, Ak...had to put my Wooldridge boat & trailer on an air carrier to send home.:ot: Gonna put it to work fishing, and hauling logs on the river. Anyways, were done sno-goeing here. DaveA...I believe your machine will do just fine pulling an ice...

    Venture towing capacities

Been fairly busy the last couple of months. I added a few pictures, including one of my son on a father/son fishing trip. Couple of different logging trips on the others. I never did install my Simmons Gen II's...not enough snow this year.

    Venture towing capacities

I had been pulling 1000-1500 lb log loads with the MP over the last six weeks. I couldn't be happier with how she pulls. It has been kinda warm, but never got an overheat light or any kind of issue. I have never run a snowmobile quite like this one....I just have so much confidence in this sled...

    2018 sleds

You guys are right on: -articulating track -eps -longer track -free option for wider skis(7 or 8") -run the exhaust all the way out the back -10 more hp than my MP Quick release 2-up seat I love my Venture mp, but these additions would have me looking to upgrade soon. On the other hand, I did...

    Yamaha or sazuki outboard????

Yamaha 40's and 50's are so quiet, it's amazing! They sip gas , and are just extremely reliable. That being said, I know a lot of people who run Suzukis and are extremely happy with them as well. I admit, I went with Honda for my boat because it is slightly lighter than Yamaha(90hp).

    Why have we been foresaken?

That's awesome! I spent 13 years as an aircraft technician...most of them working on the big jets( 747, MD-11, 757, 767)...most days I couldn't believe they would pay me to hang around jets all day. Not the best paying career, but a rewarding one in other ways. Not much snow here in some parts...
