2016 Apex X-TX. Looking to reduce ski lift coming out of corners and general acceleration cases. Already tightened limiter 1 position and added a little more ski pressure. Downloaded the manual and all it shows is info on adjusting the shock air pressure.
With the extreme cold and all I had some time to dig into my competition while I'm trying to sell my 2011 Apex with 10K miles today.
Looked at at all 21 sleds for sale in my area and compiled some stats.
Average asking prices are 65% over NADA book. This probably says more about NADA being out...
Been chasing this issue for the last couple seasons and finally found the culprit by setting up a mirror behind the sled so I could watch the taillight while jostling wires around. Found a white connector under the hood where the wires are coupled together. I would not consider this a grounding...
Someone posted a black '12 Apex like new with 2.3K miles on it for 5K early in the week on CL (MAINE). I was at work when I saw it and was thinking how am I going to empty my trailer of all the kids college furniture and get this damn thing. By the time my shift was over it was gone. Moral of...
Whilst waiting for the snow to fly have been watching alot of U-tube sled vids. Of course, the "fails" vids catch my attention by default. 99% Are not Yamaha videos. Of that, another 90% are rider error. Still, why are so many going over the handlebars? Are the rider forward chassis part of the...
Never had one. What were the issues? Was there a limit on the amount of travel you could get out of it? Too costly to produce? Seems like the zero scrub aspect would have all but eliminated darting. Did they dart?
Photo showing stock 4" carbide runners as installed left & right with front at top. This is a new (to me) 2010 LTX Vector.
Luckily I had a decent spare set with 6" carbide to install while I wait for snow to see how much darting is going to be an issue. The sled was previously set up by the...
I got the idea to increase the diameter of the cam where the throttle cable attaches to the carb (or throttle body) rack to accomplish the following:
Reduce throttle pull force
Reduce throttle response
Reduce WOT
Why? I want to get my teens off their smelly 2-strokes and riding my 05 Vector...
Went to adjust the brake and throttle levers to my liking. No problem on the brake… just loosen, rotate and lock back down. The throttle is another story. It looks like there is a lip to the assembly that tucks under the grip and is riveted in place. Sheese! The grip is currently perfectly...
