Just wanted to say thanks to Tom for this unbelievable website. Over the years the help and knowledge I've gotten from this site is unmeasurable. From my 1998 SRX 600 to an 02 Viper then an 03 RX-1 , with a 97 SX as a side sled, I've never failed to find help, parts, info, or all of the above on...
Does anyone know the difference between the flex pipes from these models? The part numbers have changed. I have an 03 RX and I am trying to figure out which ones I can use on my sled.
Thanks!
Well, let's hear it--how good do they actually perform? I'm sick of getting my butt kicked by the No-action, to the point of selling the damn sled. After the suspension swap, how close to a newer sled like a Doo do they ride? If there isn't a BIG improvement, it just doesn't seem to make sense...
It seems that the only place to get the old RX-1 side mirrors/wind deflectors is from Royal Distributors in Canada. Unfortunately, they don't ship to the U.S. If anybody out there could buy them and then send them to me, I will obviously cover all of your expenses in advance with a little extra...
Does anyone have a good way to keep the overflow hoses together? The little brass coupling that joins 1/2" of hose just doesn't stay together anymore? There has to be a better way.
My buddy's RX-1 was burning oil like crazy. I found some GUNK brand oil treatment at Menard's for about 3 bucks. Poured it in the oil tank and so far, so good. Oil consumption less than half of what it was this weekend doing 400 miles plus. 1/5th the cost of Ring Free.
Buddy's RX-1 was pouring fuel out the vent lines, so I cleaned the carbs and paid special attention to the float needles. They seemed to operate freely, but I did the normal cleaning and put it back together. Sled ran fine in garage for two weeks, now gas is pouring out the vents again. What...
On an RX-1, there is a black metal bracket that holds the rear snow flap on. The rivets that hold the bracket to the tunnel. Does anyone know what size those are, as far as the diameter of the "nail" portion goes? Are there metric rivets? I have the rivets, but I can't find a gun that will hold...
So I bought this sled through a pawn shop. I have no history of it at all, and new to the four stroke side.
03 Rx-1. Down near the bottom of the oil tank, there is a cast aluminum piece inserted in a coolant line. This piece has a weird rubber plug with five prongs. It also has a flat wire...
Can someone look at the parts list and tell me the number for the piece of metal that is under the drive belt protecting the speedo sensor? I can't figure it out. Thanks.
I'm just wondering where all of these Apex seats are coming from. What are the best sources and how much should I expect to pay for one? I'm hoping to be an RX-1 owner as soon as this weekend!
