im planning on changing gearing and track on my nitro xtx too,1 tooth bigger top gear is $40 bucks for it,must be cause its hyvo,are the sidewinder clutches able to shift out all the way or do they require a little shaving,lots of ways to gain from stock stuff just haven't been into any of it...

been running a 128 for several years 13.5 firecat track,no issues with stock tunnel

wait for groomed trails before you touch anything,1200 are nothing compared to an apex

leave secondary alone and change front spring to the next one softer on preload,gives much smoother engagement on take off but has same rate at full shift,im not studded and run a 13.5 x 128 hacksaw

im looking at 14 nytro xtx,had an 09,loved it,blown out back led me to sell it,time to get another one,10" of snow the other day really got me ready for a new sled for lots of riding this winter,not sure I like the 1.75 track cause im a trail guy,some changes in mind

if not running studs,remove your tunnel protectors,problem solved,the ice build on them like mad and then fills in everywhere else,no issues since i removed mine

hey rollrite,change the primary clutch spring to the next softest on the engage and total force,i forget the color,simple fix for your overrev and better fuel mpg and easier engagement for better belt life,i also added a little tip weight to the for better top end,inexpensive parts like these 2...

i have a fast 06 rtx with out reverse,have it set mainly for top end for every day trail riding(a little long legged),i also have an 09 xtx which i have run against a few short track nytros and beat them all on top end and within a sled from low to mids,my xtx will stay ahead of my rtx til 70-80...

take the tape off,if the end ever freezes up the crankcase pressure will find a way out and it usually isnt good,blown crank seal maybe,the slit is supposed to be there

i have a 13.5 x 128 on my 06 rtx,had to move the upper wheels and rear wheels in by putting washer on outside of bearing instead of inside and added 1/2" to the loops on the very top front mount on skid,have run it for 2 years now with no issues,all other wheels are fine

make sure you have the little flap in the front on the bottom of the chin piece with the 2 magnets in it,i also use the big black cold weather piece that goes around the face piece,it is kind of a pain but once your used to using it and learn how to tuck in into helmet good it block another 75 %...
