Copper Exhaust Donuts

The ones you have in stock now are brass correct? What grade of copper are you going to be using and have they been tested? I'm sure you guys know I have them also and they are the correct blend of copper and have been tested alot and are made here. Copper is extremely expensive so if you can get them made over seas and land them here and make some profit for 15 dollars that's insane. I'd be checking on the blend of material.

Pre-order page is up: Exhaust Donut

I hope to have these by the end of April or sooner if I'm lucky. These will work on all 3 and 4 cylinder 4 stroke Yamahas except for the 2011 Apex with EXUP. NO installation instructions are included with these either.

There are some helpful threads here on TY though:
RockerDan Thread for APEX
Grizztracks Thread for RS/RX

Another NB order...

100% copper is 100% copper its the labour its very cheap in China I think the brass may very well do just fine in this application as well time will tell. The melting points of brass or copper are only 160 C apart.

Because it's a pre-order at the $13 price. The gaskets should be in by the end of April. They will be $15 each after April 30th or when the pre-order sells out. If they sell out before I get them, the page will say 'notify me' instead of 'add to cart'.

Why won't these work on the new 2011 sleds with EXUP?

Copper donuts are the way to go. Real 100% copper. Not the copper blend "updated" ones yamaha wants to sell you.

It's awesome to see
Crewchief, thistle, and other TY site supporters providing us with options and products we Yamaha owners
Can use that will help us. Replacing donuts is a
Lame, tedious task and hopefully copper donuts are the Answer to never having to replace the donuts again!

I'm not 100% sure they won't but I haven't purchased one of those donuts yet to check it out. The 2011 Apex now shares an OEM donut part number with the Phazers.......Yamaha obviously did something different enough to give them a seperate #, but it could just be material composition.

I dont understand the difference between crewchief and thistle and the $15 to $35 price difference?

I need a set for my SC apex, the exhaust is getting a makeover and I want to not mess with it again.

One is made in Canada (thistle) The other is made in China. The difference is Labour cost.
