Just changed the starter on my XTX and noticed that the high beam light stays on (dimmer but still on) when I click to low beam...any ideas before a tear it apart again?

Its possible. You could pop your old bulb in the socket and see if you get the beams to change. If its the same then maybe the switch is corroded.

Funny thing is the beams are changing...the blue light just stays on but it dims or gets lighter when low beams are on.

I've seen a bad high/low relay cause the same problem.

Thanks Grizz I'll check that out...pretty sure that's what it is. I traced all the wires and connectors and they all seem fine.

I had the same problem. It turned out I had plugged things back together wrong with my hand warmers/Yamaheater system and I was back-feeding the system somehow. I corrected that and the head lights went back to normal.
