Hi,
I'm looking at Yamaha sled on the used market here in Canada, I'm looking at 2010-2011 model, mostly vector and Nytro. Most of them the mileage is in the 12000-15000 for these years with price ranging from 3500$ to 4500$cnd. I even saw a couple at 25000-30000 miles.
So assuming everything was maintained properly how much miles is too much?
By the way I have a FJR 1300 that I bought used at a 100000 miles , it currently have 120000 miles and it's running very strong. I know a motorcycle doesn't have the same load on the engine as a snowmobile, but still these yamaha are impressive.

It depends on price and condition. If its after 2011 then it has EPS and there a lot less major issue that can happen with high miles. I would not be afraid of 15,000 miles if it was well taken care of.

Go look at Kijiji in Quebec. Many Yamahas with over 30000 kms.
The old red head triple 2 strokes go over 30000kms, so its fair to say you can expect more from a 4 stroke.
Condition of the sled is more important than miles IMO.

I’ve personally ridden with a half dozen or so Yammy 4 strokes with well over 20000 kms. All well maintained machines, all performed like they were new. Tough to beat if you ride lots of miles and can’t afford to trade up every couple of years.

How does EPS affect highmileage sled vs non EPS model?

It won’t. But the eps models are the 2nd gen of the Apex therefore many new updates and problems have been resolved.
With high mileage I’d worry about:
1. conditions of the bushings and bearings in the suspension and driveline.
2. Condition of the clutches.
3. Condition of the track.
If those items have been addressed I’d feel ok about it.
