Doesn't do much. That's something AC added 1/2 through the build of the 15's.
If you had a early 15 you didn't get the screw and later builds did. My guess is that it was something to stream line the assembly process.

I think when you add factory skid those bolts are used.

My zbros skid plate uses this bolt but it stoped treading in half way in so I left it that way hasn’t moved in 900 miles and nothing fell apart so can’t be anything to serious

Sorry I had it backwards The early 15s had that gold bolt filling the hole and the late 15s didn't here's a few pictures of our sleds when new. And I agree with Cannondale that bolt is used when installing a factory skid plate otherwise it doesn't do much
