Today we installed the skid plates and there is no difference. Both skid plates on the XTX SE and XTX LE fit the same, both look good and fit very well. I am not sure why the Yamaha catalog stays you cant install a skid plate on the XTX LE .

Well now that you have your skid plates installed you'll have to come by for a beer! But you really shouldn't need a reason! See you soon! They look great!
I talked to Tracy last week about the 4th rear wheel kit and it looks like we're going to install the same kit he used on his RTX with the correct wheel size 8" for the LTX's.

The Blue SE has the bumper and skid plate on now. The orange LE has the skid plate installed also but waiting on the Racewerx bumper to arrive.

Wicked!
Is it the stock bumper on the SE?
Pict????
Would love to see that racewerx on the le.
I know I want the protection of the skid plate on the rear but don't know if I want the aftermarket/accessory bumper or use front skid plate and stock bumper.

My dealer said you could but for my application he said it was not necessary, I agreed! So I have the Yamaha Sport Bumper because of it's strength for lifting and moving the sled if needed!

Fiddlergreen, Sounds like you need a new dealer maybe, idk? The skid plate and bumper both work very well together so I am not sure why your dealer said that?? When I change the oil you only have to remove just the skid plate and the bumper stays in place. I wanted all the lower metal of the bumper to protect the plastic nose as well as a lifting point like TestMaster mentioned, we do get stuck from time to time... Also the skid plate to protect the plastic under sides and chain case area better. Being off trail riders here things tent to get a little beat up underneath the sleds. Our last sleds didn't have skid plates and the under plastic were pretty beat up(just cosmetic) from small things you hit and dont even realize you ran over that caused some damage so with the new vipers I wanted to beef up those areas a bit.

Is the stock bumper really that weak on these sleds that it's not really fit for lifting or moving the sled? I tend to get stuck a lot breaking trails and trying to get places I probably shouldn't.lol! My dealer said you could but for my application he said it was not necessary, I agreed! Is it really a necessity to put a different bumper on or is it just cosmetic?
I don't want to tear it off some day trying to haul the sled out of a good stuck.

Quick question. The Canada brocure shows the rear skid on the blue/ orange with fox float 3's. Is this true? My book says 2's.I heard from my dealer today and the XTX LE is very close to shipping. He is expecting to be invoiced for the sled soon which means its on its way.
You guys might be getting a call soon to if your waiting on a XTX LE model
I cant wait.

Never saw single loop stock one ripped off but lifting on it moves it alot so probably a good idea to get something stronger.
