I think you missed the "were" in his post, referring to the HPDI Yamaha outboards from a few years back. Yamaha has the tech to make a competitive 2 stroke, for whatever reason they choose not to. Although they still sell old tech 2 strokes in 3rd world countries. BTW - I got 22 mpg on my ride...

No recall that I remember - however, I fabricated a block off plate before Yamaha came out with one. My Nytro was worse - made a block off plate for it also. Real exhaust is just a bad idea in my mind. Got a skidoo 900 - no problem with icing there. It's is the sled the Yamaha should have made...

I agree. I paid 8700 for my Nytro new in 08, with 3 yr warranty and a free cover.

I think a mountain Viper is almost guarantied, only question is the motor. Most everyone will be disappointed if it's the same Nytro motor. I hope they come out with a new phazer replacement, but that might be a year or 2 away.
