to be honest if its communicating via canbus is good news. that means its relatively easy to reverse engineer the communication signals between ecu and psu. I have yet to read 5 more pages of this thread so this might already been adresses. but that seems to me like a relatively easy projet to...
agree. the big xrs with all kimd of electronic suspensions and 32” screen dash with the big 900turbo r engine im there. omdoubt these are in same teritory as sidewinders/cats
BUT a normal adrenaline sled. ( the model I like best to start from). are nimbler
There is simply NO WAY. the yamcatw are only 30lb more than a doo850.
Have them both and ride them both. the 850 is increibly nimble in comparison especially when riding loose snow.
Also lifting them both in garage to move them. the weight difference is substantial. have not weighted...
Pretty much anything is possible.
I have a race sled that is a 2003 rx1 with all apex panels and delta
rx1 engine fuel injected using bigstuff3 and supercharged using a rotrex c38-81
Okay just a quick update:
I did weight this sled ready to race tonight for fun:
657 pounds...
Last time I went to napi, fully dressed I weigted about 208 give or take a couple pounds
total raceweight was 865 pounds.
Temperature was pretty cold there, track did not want to hook...
if someone interested in motec for apex (I don't use this sled... so...) :
I have one for sale,
Motec ecu, apex adapter harness with the digital input wire for the two step
It also does have the datalogging option.
via PM please.
I will have a stage 3 with water to air intercooler kit that I will take off in a few months...
Only thing you would need is a fuel controller... because I have a stand alone on that sled.
With the right suspension adjustments and a clean track .. the track hooked up real good!
So the clutchs were a bit too loaded on start (sled bogged off the line)
still, 8.28@160.9mph and 6.9X 1000ft (don't have 1000ft mph) on a 1.31 60ft (still need to work that 60ft)...
Yes.. I do use the internal bs3 2 step, but NOT to build boost.
The very same applies to a supercharged sled using a MSD launch... will hold the launch rpm for consistency.
In fact I have 2-3 psi of boost on the 2step, but there is no need to build boost on a SC sled, I only use this...
I do use 2 step on my supercharged sled (bigstuff3 ecu) but not to build boost, I use this feature for consistency and launch tuning features of bs3 that are enabled by using this.
My map sensor is 3 bar, I set overboost cut 300kpa... but on the replay is never got over 275-280kpa.
Spark dwell time are 12v=2.3, 13v=2.0, 14v=1.7... I don't know how much these coils can take for a charge, but on my race sleds with another ecu and ls1 coils, the charge time...
my coils on my apex with the motec really have hard time sparking past 25 psi. I reduced the gap from 0.018 to 0.015... made it better... then upped the boost to 27... and missfiring started to show again. can't see what else would do it.
bad coils?? maybe... don't know.
But what is...
the more boost, the less the gap... with the stock coils, I found out... there is about no way I can avoid missfires above 25 psi of boost, even with the motec ecu, and that regardless of what motec guy told me.. I tried... and can't get it to properly ignite at 27 psi even with the gap set to...
